This place has horrible ethics and their main focus is to make a business and not work to ensure quality care for the community. It was my first time visiting this clinic. I was given a course of antibiotics and as I was experiencing some complications, the staff never let me receive professional medical advice directly from the provider. The staff let me know to increase the dosage and when I did and still had complications, the Director of Operations - Teresa Shomer - called me and literally told me over the phone to visit another clinic or go to the ER. Immediately picking up her call, I was shocked by her tone because it was snappy, disrespectful, and condescending and the context of her words were inconsiderate and harsh. I could tell she was speaking out of her emotions. I was only able to say a few words regarding their ethics, and she didn't allow me to speak as if I did something wrong. It made me feel unimportant. Being busy or feeling overwhelmed is not an excuse to push patients away who have medical inquiries.
Every patient should feel cared for and not have to feel pushed away for trying to report concerns. I have never experienced this kind of treatment from any provider. This clinic is afraid of liability and will avoid it at the expense of your well-being. Teresa Shomer and Dr. Shomer are owners of this business and that was why I received a nasty call from Teresa and from Dr. Shomer (the next day) suggesting the offer of a refund after seeing my feedback. They only care to protect their business. Treating patients is one thing, but when it comes to potential risks and problems arising from medical inquiries about their prescribed medication, they will avoid it if possible. Your problem is not their problem anymore and they will direct you elsewhere for other medical facilities to handle it. This is not best practice nor ethical, but this is how they operate. To the owners of this clinic - I will never support your business again and I hope the community will learn of your true intentions for the patients under your care.
Once you walk out the door even with their prescribed medication that you are still taking and you report concerns, you are not considered a patient under their care. They don't see your well-being as their priority. I highly recommend those seeking medical attention to go to Kaiser or another clinic instead. Please refer to the 1 star reviewers of this clinic on their Yelp page as others have also experienced the same treatment.
Update: So I visited my Kaiser's Urgent Care after this urgent care told me to go somewhere else. I told Kaiser about my gastrointestinal issues I was experiencing. The doctor listened to me patiently about every detail. I felt heard, valued, and cared for. He was very informative and assured me that it's side effects of the medication I was taking. Best part: they felt bad for my situation and didn't even charge me. The next day, I am all better. Hands down GO TO KAISER.
