Rude staff. Unwilling to help in any way. Would not honor my appointment even though I was sent there by my doctor. Would not give me any alternate solutions or suggestions. Clearly just wanted me gone. Typical healthcare in AZ.

I have always received excellent care urgent cares and hospitals, until today. Banner Urology performed bladder cancer surgery 2 days ago, no complaints, excellent care. I left the hospital with a catheter. This afternoon I began to leak blood from where the catheter entered my bladder. We called Banner Urology and the lady who took the call was most pleasant and tracked down a medical assistant. Close to 5:00 on a Friday. I was told to go to a Banner Urgent Care or a hospital ER. Knowing how busy the ER is on Friday nights I chose the Urgent Carr and made an appointment for 5:40. I showed up about 5:15, aid was sitting in the chair next to the receptionist with his feet up. Receptionist asked how they could help me and I told her the issue. She said "we don't do catheters here." I was wondered who "we was" and why the receptionist was commenting on medical procedures. The aid did get up and asked for more detail which I gave to him and he said he would "ask the doctor" which I likened to the car salesman saying he would " talk to the manager." He came back and said "the doctor said go to ER." Even though I did exactly what I was told by urology I was treated with an utter lack of care and respect. I am now waiting at the Banner ER peeing blood on the floor which I can't control. I now understand fully why this place had nobody waiting on Friday night, their patients knew better. I have received excellent service at the Banner Urgent Care on Arizona Avenue but they had no openings. Will never go here again and make sure my extended family doesn't go there as well.

Picture this...sitting in an examination room waiting for the dr. All of a sudden you hear someone loudly say "lock the doors and turn off the lights" followed by laughter and dead silence. Of course my husband and I turn to look at one another and while giggling and jokingly talking about what would happen if they mistakenly forget about us. As the one who wasn't feeling well, it sparked some laughter and helped ease my pain. Later, when the PA came in I exclaimed we thought you forgot about us, as a means of providing some levity and ready to continue with what we had heard as the reason for my joke. WRONG! The PA began giving us a run down of her day (in a scolding manner) as she had been there since 8am, didn't get a lunch, saw 55 patients and how she took my joking remark seriously as a jab of her not doing her job! Wooh! I reiterated I was joking and she reminded me in no uncertain terms how "offended" she was to which I told her how "offended" I was. Afterall, I explained my comments as a joke! Yet that made no difference as she continued to waller in her self-pity and school me on how it made her feel. She insisted it was a comment of her not doing her job. Instead of accepting my explanation and apology she was now pre-judging my heart? The origin of the joke had nothing to do with her in the first place, yet she jumped to her conclusions and made it about her and was doing all she could do educate her sick patient. Then, she informed me that we should have a conversation "adult-to-adult". Okay now that felt like a slap in the face to me, the ill party desirous of a dr's good bedside manner was now wondering what that meant? Serioously? Next, she told me I could leave and go to another Urgent Care center to be seen - did I mention it was after 9pm - closing time? Was she refusing to see me? I believe this young lady should re-think her career to one that is better suited where she can be guaranteed her lunch time and provide her employer with a guage of the work she wants to accomplish in a day. I bet there are others out there who have missed lunch, worked over their scheduled time, and taken on a work load to meet the necessary daily crunch in a given day. I have...yet I don't complain to my customers and by no means speak in an unprofessional, self-serving manner. Well, this senior citizen has never been treated so poorly by a dr (PA) in my life. She sure made her "superior" point to the likes of me. As a kind gesture to the other staff who I had encounted during my visit, I thanked them for their kindness and making me feel welcome.
