If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Bayhealth Emergency Center, Smyrna is an emergency room, commonly called an E.R., providing critical and life saving healthcare services to patients throughout theSmyrna area through their location at401 N Carter Rd. They are required by law to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on national holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
While their availability can be enticing, you should really only visit an E.R. if you absolutely have to as they can be quite expensive and have much longer wait times than an walk-in urgent care center. In fact, some insurance carriers have begun to refuse paying for emergency room visits that were in fact non-emergent. An interesting fact that about 50% of emergency room diagnosis could be addressed at a quicker, less expensive urgent care center.

Room was gross. The floor was sticky and so dirty. The staff was very nice. With the exception on the older nurse with the really long straight blonde /gray hair. She did our intake. I understand it was late, but she was gruff, and had the personality of a brick. She rolled her eyes and was just overall not very nice. The rest of the staff was very nice.

Ignored my symptoms, told me how I was feeling. The nurse rolled her eyes and sighed several times when I tried explaining my symptoms. I was rudely told to stay still but I have Tardive Dyskinesia. I was discharged with no cate. I drove another hour to another ER and treated for Serotonin Syndrome and dehydration.

Where to start? Nurse rolled her eyes, sighed, and dismissed my symptoms. The Doctor told me my symptoms were chronic and it was my fault for not seeing my PCP which I do on a regular basis. Dr. Gusdon and attending nurse didn't bother with asking what meds I'm on or my history. They ignored my dehydration from 24+ hours of severe diarrhea, they ignored my vomiting, they told me I was at an ER not a Dr's office. I l was made to feel stupid. I left and drove am hr to another ER where they listened and treated me for Serotonin Syndrome and dehydration. BAYHEALTH has a terrible community reputation and it's not unfounded.
