Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care - 41715 Winchester Rd, Temecula
Scheduled online appt was easy. The office itself appeared to be very clean and you can smell that the facility was and has been continuously being maintained with Lysol and whatever else. So good job there. Front office staff was average. I made a reservation for 12am. Got there at 11:50pm to check in. They called me back around 12:30am. At the time there was NO one in the lobby. Seemed pretty quiet in the rooms as well. I wasn’t seen by anyone till 1:15am. While I was waiting in the room, i can hear the nurses or the medical staff all gossiping about various topics. One of them I could tell was even cutting their nails! Gross and how extremely unprofessional and unhygienic. The medical table also didn’t even have a liner for patients to sit on. So who knows if they disinfect those or not. The medical staff surely seemed lazy (with the exception of the gentleman who kept cleaning and disinfecting the lobby area, he seemed like the only person that cared.) FYI, to the staff those doors aren’t sound proof so patients can hear EVERYTHING! The lady who took me back and checked my vitals was also the same lady who checked me in at front. (aren’t those 2 people supposed to be separate depts? Or does the front office admin staff also check in patients into the back and take vitals? That was the 1st time I’ve ever seen that happen and that already was questionable for me.) I needed to be seen for a severe hives breakout (2nd occurrence) from just having seen another urgent care dr at another location the day before. I figured I would try urgent care first vs going to ER, but in hindsight and immediately upon getting taken into the back, I knew I should have trusted my gut and went straight to an actual hospital and into ER where I know for sure I would have received the proper and appropriate medical and professional care. When the dr (not even sure what her official title was) finally arrived to my room, there was NO introduction of who she was, she just said “ok, so what are we seeing you for.” I told her everything stated above. I advised the urgent care dr, that the other dr that I was seen by on the previous morning, had already given a steroid shot. Let her know that the hives came back but even worse and I was experiencing pulsing in my head, and felt like a bubble in my throat made it hard to swallow but I was able to breath, however it was uncomfortable. These were new symptoms from what I had been experiencing. The dr didn’t even budge when I told her. She just said, “well I can give you another steroid shot.”  Her tone was very almost rude and bothered. If someone goes into the “medical profession” you would think they have more manners and are able to effectively communicate as well as empathize to the patients- after all isn’t that why you chose the field? To help and comfort people?! Well I didn’t get a good feeling about her proposed treatment and trusted my gut. Told her I declined to getting another steroid shot. Asked her if there was any other alternative to treatment because I was very uncomfortable, inflammed, itching and swollen. Her reply “well, the shot is the best thing or you will just be itchy, so what do you want to do?” She then proceeded to say that she can prescribe oral steroids. So I told her to just write the prescription and I’ll have an appt with my dr in the morning. She asked if I had blood work done- I told her no, I plan to see my dr in the morning and I can request lab work there. She said “ok yeah good, this way I don’t have to do lab work here.”  So, in short she never addressed my issue and concern about the bubble in my throat, my head pulsing and she didn’t put me on the table where patients usually sit. She looked at me from the chair that’s inside of a patient room. Before she left she never asked if I had any questions or what to look out for or what to do if I get worse. She just said she will write the prescription and walked out. 15 min later, the medical staff came in to give me the medicine and that was it. Since the lady never introduced herself I had to look at the prescription to read who prescribed it- her name is: Cindy Tran. I believe she’s a PA-C. I would NOT recommend her nor that facility unless it’s a small and minor issue. Anything that can be life threatening or severe- go directly to ER. I left that office at 2am with NO changes and just wasted my time and $.  After seeing one of my regular dr’s the following morning, explained to her the series of events. My dr told me that I was experiencing an anaphylactic reaction and that’s why the hives came back worse and has those additional symptoms. She said that PA should have administered the Epi pen and I would have gone straight to ER. So good thing my airways didn’t close because the following morning my eyes were so swollen and hives were even worse.  When I told her the dr wanted to give me another steroid shot, she just looked at me with an unbelievable reaction. I told her the dr prescribed me to take 3 of the prednisone (steroid) tablets for 5 days. She said that was too much and it should only be 1 tablet daily and take with food. This other Dr seen at 24 Hr Temecula urgent care said no need to take with food and take in the morning. Even though I told her I take my Levothyroxine pill for thyroid in the morning. Well that right there is already incorrect! Because the pamphlet for the steroid meds she gave me clearly states to take with food! So, there’s just so many things that could have went wrong had I listened to this health care provider. I’m glad I trusted my gut on this and I would never recommend this place and I do NOT recommend this PA- Cindy Tran! Horrible experience.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

Getting tested for Tuberculosis

A tuberculosis test identifies whether or not you've ever been infected. It won't tell you whether your illness is current or latent, but it will tell you if you've had this bacterial infection before.

A tuberculosis test can be performed on the skin or in the blood. Neither test necessitates any extra preparation.

During the skin test, the TB test provider injects a small protein called PPD beneath the first layer of your skin. A positive reaction to PPD, which is generated from tuberculosis bacteria, can indicate that you have had tuberculosis. After 48 to 72 hours, the TB test provider will request that you return to the clinic so that the injection site may be thoroughly checked to confirm or rule out a positive result.

During the blood test, the TB test practitioner takes a small sample of blood from your arm with a tiny needle. Following that, your sample is sent to a lab for examination and determination of whether or not you have tuberculosis.

When you have TB symptoms, you should get a tuberculosis test. Fever, chest pain, exhaustion, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, a cough that lasts at least three weeks, and coughing up blood are all symptoms of tuberculosis.

A tuberculosis test may be ordered if you are deemed to be at high risk for tuberculosis. A weaker immune system, contact with people who have tuberculosis, or travel to a country where tuberculosis is common are all risk factors for tuberculosis. Furthermore, some employers, including healthcare facilities, correctional facilities, and people who work or volunteer at homeless shelters, require employees to receive tuberculosis tests on a regular basis.

TB Test FAQs

  • What does a positive TB test look like?

When you take the TB skin test, a huge bump will appear on your arm at the injection site if you have had a TB infection. This hump, which may appear red and bloated, indicates that you have tuberculosis germs in your body. During your visit, your doctor or the TB test provider will measure and check the bump to see if you have TB.

  • Where can I get a TB test in Rancho Santa Fe?

Tuberculosis tests are available from a variety of healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, hospitals, walk-in clinics and laboratories, pharmacies, and urgent care clinics. If you exhibit signs of active tuberculosis, your doctor may refer you to a tuberculosis testing facility. Solv can also help you locate the top TB testing facilities in your area.

  • What is a TB test?

tuberculosis testing available are a skin test and a blood test. A protein called PPD generated from tuberculosis germs is injected into your skin as part of the skin test to see how your body reacts to it. A small amount of blood is taken from your arm and submitted to a lab for confirmation of tuberculosis bacteria.

  • How long is a TB test good for?

You should have your tuberculosis test repeated every four years, whether you test positive or negative. Tuberculosis patients who test positive may be required to have a chest X-ray before being tested every four years. Your employer or doctor may prescribe a TB test more regularly than every four years based on specific work policies or your symptoms and health status.

  • How much does a TB test cost in Rancho Santa Fe?

A tuberculosis test's cost is determined by a number of factors, including the test's kind, provider rates, geographic location, and whether or not the test is covered by your health insurance plan. Contact each TB test provider directly to find more about price and rates, or contact your health insurance company to learn more about your TB testing benefits and coverage.

  • Does insurance cover TB testing in Rancho Santa Fe?

Many health insurance coverage includes tuberculosis testing, particularly if your doctor believes it is medically necessary based on your symptoms or level of contact with tuberculosis patients. Some companies may reimburse the cost of tuberculosis testing if it is required at work. Contact your health insurance provider directly to learn more about your TB test benefits and coverage.

  • How often do you need a TB test in Rancho Santa Fe?

Employers often screen employees who are required to get tested for tuberculosis every four years. If you spend time with someone who has tuberculosis or have traveled to a region where tuberculosis is common and prevalent, such as Africa or Russia, your doctor may prescribe that you get a TB test on a regular basis. Ask your employer or doctor how often you should get a TB test based on these factors.

  • How long does a TB test take in Rancho Santa Fe?

The TB blood test usually takes less than five minutes because it involves taking a small sample of blood from your arm. The TB skin test is also quick, but you'll need to come back to the clinic 48 to 72 hours later to have the injection site checked for a reaction. When you call to schedule a tuberculosis test, the provider will be able to give you a more exact time estimate.

  • How can I book a TB test through Solv?

A TB test can be scheduled easily and quickly with Solv. Go to the Solv Home page, type "TB test" into the search box, and then select your area from the right-hand dropdown menu. Solv will present you with a selection of top-rated tuberculosis (TB) test providers in your area who can assist you. Choose your favorite tuberculosis test provider and contact them using the information provided to make an appointment.

  • Can I do at-home TB testing in Rancho Santa Fe?

Test kits for tuberculosis that can be used at home are no longer available. Some healthcare providers, on the other hand, may visit your home to give a tuberculosis test, albeit this service may be limited to persons who are unable to leave their homes due to physical limitations. If you or a family member is unable to leave the house to take the test, speak with your doctor about the possibility of at-home TB testing.
