Other than a 45 minute wait despite having an appointment it was good due to staff. There are. I chairs in waiting room that disabled people like me can use. They all swivel. I suggest you get a solid chair with arms to show you care about your patients. Very unsafe.

When I clicked on Book It on your website, the circle icon spun and spun as if it didn't make the appt. I went through the appt process again with the same result. Later I had a text saying I DID have the appt. But when I checked in, the receptionist said the appt was NOT in the system. It was Urgent Care and she was able to get me in 2 hrs later...

Not a very friendly place but efficient. Filling out paperwork in the waiting room was redundant after filling out information on line. The doctor was nice and quickly took care of my medical needs. I’d go back again because the level of medical care was very good.

Friendly Staff

I've been here twice so far and it's been great. I did wait a long time to be seen the first time but I was a walk-in and most everybody had appointments. The X-rays I had taken were really quick. The Chiropractor explains everything really good and the staff is very nice.

Suzy Choi, PA-C ...YOU ARE A BLESSING!! I want to start off by thanking you for being so kind and listening to my symptoms. I was so scared but you talked with me and reassured me of my treatment plan. You related with me and understood me, making me feel so much better. I appreciate you for all that you do. You told me you were the only provider working and you were so backed up with patients. I noticed you took the time that each one needed. I was waiting for awhile, but due to covid-19 it is understandable. It wasn't that bad and to have a wonderful provider like yourself meant the world. You are appreciated and so is all your nurses and staff. Thank you again!!❤❤

What is urgent care?

Urgent care is a category of walk-in care in a dedicated medical facility outside of a traditional emergency room. Urgent care centers primarily treat injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care but not severe enough to require an ER visit. These centers are equipped to handle non-life-threatening situations and are often more convenient and less expensive than the emergency room. They bridge the gap between primary care doctors and hospital emergency rooms by providing care when the primary care is closed or unable to provide a timely appointment.

Common services and reasons for visit

Urgent care centers provide a wide range of services that can serve as a one-stop-shop for patients. They are equipped to handle a variety of medical problems that need to be treated right away but are not considered true emergencies. Here are some common services and reasons for visiting an urgent care center:

  • Minor fractures, sprains, strains, and injuries

  • Cuts and burns that may need stitches or dressing

  • Common infections such as UTIs, sinusitis, and strep throat

  • Diagnostic services, including X-rays and laboratory tests

  • Seasonal allergies and asthma

  • Flu shots and other vaccinations

  • Physicals for work, school, or sports

Types of healthcare providers

Urgent care centers are staffed by a diverse team of healthcare providers, each with their specific role, training, and experience. Here are some of the healthcare providers you might encounter at an urgent care center:

  • Physicians: These are medical doctors (MDs) or doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) who have completed medical school and residency training. They diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and may perform minor procedures.

  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs): NPs are registered nurses with advanced training and education, often a master's or doctoral degree. They can diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, and may perform certain procedures.

  • Physician Assistants (PAs): PAs are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider. They train on the medical model and complete thousands of hours of medical training.

  • Registered Nurses (RNs): RNs provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families. They have completed a nursing program and are licensed by the state.

  • Medical Assistants (MAs): MAs perform routine tasks and procedures such as measuring patients' vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording information in medical records, and preparing and handling medical instruments

When to go to an urgent care

Urgent care centers are an excellent resource for immediate, non-life-threatening medical needs. They are designed to handle illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention but are not severe enough to warrant a trip to the emergency room. Examples include minor fractures, sprains, burns, and cuts, as well as illnesses like flu, fever, or urinary tract infections. Urgent care centers are also ideal for when you need prompt medical attention outside of your primary care physician's regular office hours or when you cannot wait for an appointment.

Urgent care vs emergency room (ER)

While both urgent care centers and emergency rooms provide immediate medical care, the key difference lies in the severity of health issues they are equipped to handle. Emergency rooms are designed to treat severe and life-threatening conditions, such as chest pain, severe burns, or major trauma. On the other hand, urgent care centers handle non-life-threatening situations that still require prompt attention. Another significant difference is the wait time and cost. Urgent care centers typically have shorter wait times and are more cost-effective than emergency rooms.

    Urgent care vs primary care

Primary care physicians are typically the first point of contact for patients seeking preventative care, treatment for chronic conditions, or general health advice. These doctors know their patients' medical histories and provide ongoing, personalized care. Urgent care centers, on the other hand, are designed for immediate and unexpected healthcare needs. While they do not replace the need for a primary care physician, they are a convenient option when you need immediate care, especially during evenings, weekends, or when your primary care doctor is not available.

    Urgent care vs retail clinic

Retail clinics, often found in pharmacies or supermarkets, provide care for basic health issues like minor infections, rashes, or preventative services such as vaccinations. They are typically staffed by nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Urgent care centers offer a broader range of services, equipped to handle more complex conditions like minor fractures, burns, or diagnostic services like X-rays and lab tests. While both offer walk-in appointments, urgent care centers generally have extended hours and a wider scope of services compared to retail clinics.

    Initial Assessment

Upon arrival, a healthcare provider will conduct an initial assessment which includes checking vital signs and discussing your symptoms and medical history.

    Diagnosis and Treatment

Based on the initial assessment, further diagnostic tests may be carried out if necessary. Once a diagnosis is made, the healthcare provider will discuss the treatment plan with you.

    Follow-up care and communication

After your visit, it's important to follow the treatment plan provided by the healthcare provider. If any prescription medications were given, make sure to take them as directed. If you have any questions or concerns after your visit, most urgent care centers offer follow-up services to address these. This could be through a phone call, email, or another visit if necessary.

    Cost and insurance details

Urgent care visits are a cost-effective alternative to emergency room visits. The average out of pocket cost for an urgent care visit ranges from $71 to $125 for basic care. This can increase if additional services like shots, x-rays, and labs are required. In comparison, a comparable emergency room visit averages around $1,318.

Most urgent care centers in Sacramento accept insurance, including both Medicare and Medicaid. However, it's always a good idea to check with the specific center about their accepted insurance plans before your visit.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • What is urgent care?

Urgent care is a healthcare service focused on providing immediate, non-life-threatening medical attention. Urgent care centers treat conditions such as sprains, cuts, burns, and common illnesses and offer a range of services, including diagnostic and preventive care like immunizations and physicals. With an estimated 15,000 clinics in the U.S., urgent care centers operate beyond traditional primary care office hours, offering a convenient and lower cost alternative to emergency rooms for urgent but minor health issues.

  • What is a walk-in clinic?

A walk-in clinic is a type of healthcare facility that provides medical care to patients without the need for an appointment. These clinics cover a range of services such as urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care with walk-in availability. They cater to non-emergent health issues, offering a convenient option for accessible medical attention. Walk-in clinics vary from free services provided by government, charity, or foundation-operated facilities to private clinics with affordable rates, serving as a practical alternative for minor illnesses and injuries outside of traditional doctor's offices and emergency rooms.

  • Do urgent care centers in Sacramento take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. Use Solv to find a Sacramento urgent care center that offers advanced bookings (or appointments) and book online.

  • Are Sacramento urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes. Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Conversely, most of the urgent care centers in Sacramento are available after hours, on weekends, and many holidays. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Sacramento cost?

The cost of a visit to an urgent care in Sacramento varies, with cash prices for the base visit generally ranging from $100 to $175. Additional treatments, such as lab tests, X-rays, or immunizations, can increase costs, typically between $50-150 each. If you're using insurance, expect a co-pay between $20 and $50, depending on your plan and whether the clinic is in-network. Prices differ based on location, so it's best to check directly with the urgent care center and your insurance provider for accurate cost estimates.

Recent Urgent Care Reviews (20)

My daughter’s pediatrician recommended MVP urgent care after my young daughter tripped while running at church camp. Their office is beautiful and comforting for children with their local beach theme decor. The staff was efficient and kind. The doctor was so honest and best-result centered that he recommended a plastic surgeon for the stitches, who was kind enough to drive to the urgent care in the evening hours. My daughter got the best care from both Dr. Epstein and Dr. Andrew Cohen who drove in for a quick but well done sealing to the lip area impacted by her tripping at camp. My daughter kept distracted with comforting movies and the doctors made her feel at ease. The staff stayed late for us - they close at 10:00p and we left by 9:00pm but it was nice to have immediate top notch care all resolved within hours of the tripping. We are grateful for their taken care of her efficiently but very throughly and meticulously. Thanks to All! Crystal B.

In order to travel to Canada, I needed to get a (molecular) Covid test. It's a bit tricky because you need to get a negative test result within 72 hours of departure, but you also need the results quickly so that you can log into Canada's system. I searched several test providers but most didn't have availability this past Saturday afternoon. I was able to make an appointment at MD Today Urgent Care for 6:00 PM and it could not have gone smoother or any easier. I appreciated being called prior to the appointment time to clarify which test was most appropriate. They let you self-swab which is always more comfortable. Within 20 minutes of being tested, I was called again with the result - followed by an email. I strongly recommend MD Today Urgent Care. They are located a bit East of I-5 and North of Hwy 56 - just North of San Diego.

My daughter had croup but wasn’t improving so I made an appt at 11:30. I arrived at 11:15 and eventually was told I needed to have her COVID tested. I was back to the waiting room by 12. I thought I’d be in a room quickly since my appt was 30 min prior but it was obvious I wasn’t going to be seen soon. I told them I would take an appt at 2. I arrived by 1:45 and was in a room by 2:05. I didn’t the see the dr until 2:45. I was frustrated because I had appts and the provider explained they run an urgent care. She was condescending. I’ve been coming there since it opened. I have 4 kids one seen on Wednesday. I understand what an urgent care is but I also understand appts and customer service. I eft the first time because it was taking far longer with an appt and I needed to have my son at an event but the right thing would’ve been to fast track me the second time and for the provider to not treat me the way she did. So disappointed. I love the staff but they should’ve tried to get me in faster and when they didn’t just say sorry not have some provider explain to me how an urgent care works. Does she know what an appt is?

I went in this urgent care for a quick covid test and the ladies in there were very nice and took care of me in a timely manner even with all the customers they had. Was a great experience.

- Verified patient on 5/8

Unfortunately I’ve had to visit the urgent care 5 times in the last 2 weeks for myself and two of my children. Thankfully every single time the staff has been amazing. I understand wait times are a part of the business so I will not complain, but the new check in system really helps especially with little kids it’s easier to complete rather than trying to complete the paper forms. The desk staff is always helpful and you never seem like your annoying them by asking questions (especially considering they are asked multiple times how much longer by patients every time I’ve gone, they never once had an attitude about it), the Doctors or PA’s are always friendly and personal which always helps cause trusting them with my toddler girls is my biggest concern and they never fail. Also, twice I went with my daughter with autism and both times they were so great and patient with her, one of the assistants especially there was friendly and walked her to the room even though she didn’t know she had autism and was having a moment, and it may seem small but being able to calm her in that situation is magic. It was another assistant helping us and when she saw her crying she just held out her hand and she walked my daughter to the room, which again I know seems simple, but with an autistic toddler it can turn into a much bigger issue in those surroundings. I’m sorry I don’t have names of everyone, but I recommend this urgent care to everyone. Even though my co-pay is more here I always prefer coming here than my doctors office. So thank you again for all the entire office does, and making my girls feel comfortable and happy. One last bit, when I first told my 3 year old I had to take her to the doctor she cried and cried, saying “no doctor no doctor”, the second time we went she literally was happy going in.... to the doctor, and I know it was all thanks to that assistant that walked her to the room the first time. Thank you

I have ALWAYS had the best experience at Lani Urgent Care. They have gone above and beyond to help and treat several members in my family. I take my daughter who is disabled and I can't even Express their kindness towards her. It honestly takes special people, paitents, love, and extra time when it comes to special needs and regardless if you see Dr KimLani or his NPs, Even the front staff, Everyone is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I also get Vitamin shots there and they offer different IV Therapy too.. I am really impressed with Lani City Urgent Care. I have to see many different doctor's due to my daughters condition but also specializing in end of life care, dementia care and also writing care plans. I honestly have never come across a care center like Lani.. I just want to say THANK YOU Lani for all you have done and continue to do for me and my family. I wish I had space to write in detail the love you've shown for my family and extended family and friends I've refered. Most of all thank you for allowing me to be honest without worry of judgment. With my whole heart Thank you!!!!! Jacquelyne

I came in at 2:30pm on Friday and no one was in the waiting room so I got seen as soon as I filled out the iPad, 4 paperwork, and gave my ID and insurance card to the receptionist. The girl who is helping me (nurse) or medical assistant is so sweet. I'm so happy I came here in long beach instead of going back to Venice beach. I listened to my heart. This place is only down the st from my house. My medical covers everything. It's clean too. Very clean. Smells good. I'm being asked to take a pee test so I'm drinking water so I can test and then I can see what's going on then see the doctor. It's so much better to go to urgent care then your general physician. Anyways! 5 stars. Omg the doctor was so kind and nice! All women are here. Love it. She was sweet. She spoke to me with kindness like she knew me and I spoke to her kind. I'm going to make this my place to go.

I was not feeling well. I had a bad cough and Congestion. Went to Temecula 24 Hour Urgent Care. I was seen right away. Completed all the paper on my phone and was taken back to have my vitals. Once that was done I was escorted to the examination room which was cleaned and sanitized. The medical assistant ask lots of question regarding my system and all of the medications I was taking. The x ray technician escorted me to the x ray room took xrays of my lungs. In the examination room the doctor listen to my lungs asked me about my system. She had me take a breathing treatment and a covid test and also test for flu. Covid Test and Flu test came back negative and it looks like I have a virus. The doctor bedside manner was outstanding and the staff were welcoming and very attentive. I highly recommend this urgent care

I have been a patient of Sonja Leahy for many years. I always request her because not only is she very knowledgeable and helpful, but also very caring and sweet. I don’t feel rushed out or like I’m a bother. She is very attentive and always listens patiently to any concerns I might have!! Also Islam the nurse is so friendly and greets you with a smile! Today I had some questions about recent bloodwork that I had had done and he took the time to locate my charts and answer my concerns. Always so polite! I would recommend this urgent care to anyone in the Santa Clarita Valley! It’s the best one by far in this town!! Also I don’t wanna forget the two very helpful receptionists who were helping me with my insurance card authorization issue. Even though it was taking a while they were very patient and kind even though they were very busy. Just an all around great experience today like always! Thank you so much Sonya and staff!! I give you a 10 star ⭐️

It was 10pm on a Friday night and I needed to see a Doctor. I looked online and randomly chose Reliant Urgent Care at LAX. I called several times and nobody answered. WTF? That doesn’t seem very Reliant to me. Not a good sign. I decided to go anyway. So, I went to Reliant LAX Urgent Care expecting the worst. The very worst. How could it not be? It's at LAX, right? Had to be All Bad. I was so WRONG. Filled out all the paperwork online before going. Walked in and the place was packed. Ugh! Went out to move my car, came back and was called 5 minutes later. NO long wait! No other paperwork! Nurse walked into the exam room behind me. Doctor walked in 5 minutes later. Explained everything thoroughly -answered all my questions. Less than 5 minutes later, the "Shot" guy jabbed me with a dose of Antibiotics --painlessly! and done! Every person that helped me was SUPER nice and knew how to do their job [for once]. Plus- the office was modern and nice and pleasant. ....and my visit was completely covered by insurance. (Medi Cal) I don't know these people and Nobody asked me to write this. We're all quick to rag about incompetent terrible service, but it's time people who do an outstanding job are commended. This was definitely not the grimey back alley morgue I convinced myself it was going to be. I’m so happy I chose this place. **My only complaint: Fix the phone system. Reliant Urgent Care has several locations and they all have the same phone number. It was impossible to call them to find out if they were open or if they could even help me; or if they would accept my insurance. Someone needs to answer the phone. In an urgent situation I need to speak to someone who can assure me they’re going to do whatever they can to help.

My wife and I have had to visit several Urgent Cares in the past two years. This experience was hands down the best. The staff was friendly and warm. Everything was communicated clearly, and they made sure that I understood what they were saying. I watched them engage with 3 other patience as well, and I could tell that they left happy and satisfied with their experience as well. I can’t tell you how good it feels to be treated like a human at one of these facilities. This is easily the best Urgent Care that I’ve ever been to. We will choose to come to this location from now on.

This has been my second visit to this Urgent Care location and I am beyond pleased with their service. The facility itself is immaculate, the staff is beyond friendly, the wait time is very little and the Dr's are so friendly, understanding, knowledgeable. They definitely went out of their way to make sure we as customers are not only treated well but feel are comfortable during our visit. The check in system was a little tricky because I was asked to complete forms online that I was unable to do due to technical issues. I prefer the old school way anyway so this worked in my favor. I have already started recommending family and friends that live in the area to go there when needed due to the quality service my son received. Thank you PM Pediatrics Hastings Ranch!!!

I went to the Glendora, CA Urgent Care location on 5/14/21 at approx. 6:00 pm for relief from severe itching, sneezing & other debilitating symptoms caused by my seasonal allergies. I was greeted by the woman seated at the front desk immediately & brought into an exam room as soon as I checked in, since there were no other patients in the waiting area at the time I arrived, which I was very grateful for. All of the staff & I were wearing masks for Covid safety, which I also appreciated. The woman at the front desk was polite & efficient. The man (nurse?) who greeted me, weighed me & gave me an injection was friendly & kind, & even seemed to remember me from my last visit to this office in February with the same symptoms. Even though he was polite & totally professional, it was very embarrassing for me to have a young man weigh me & give me an injection in my bottom. I guess I'm old-fasioned & very shy, because I would have preferred a woman nurse, at least to give me the shot, or to be asked if I had a preference, or had a woman present in the room when he injected me. When he took my blood pressure, the sleeve was very tight on my arm & hurt quite a bit. He apologized for this. The PA I saw, Tallin Martirossian, was very kind, comforting & prompt. After my injection, she instructed me to wait 10 minutes before I left the office, which I did. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes later, when I went to the CVS store next door to fill my prescription, I had a very bad reaction to the shot I got (a steroid). I had excruciating pain on the site of the injection (very high on my bottom/lower back/hip) & up my back. I felt like I was going to vomit or faint. I had to find a chair in the store to sit down. I was in so much pain, that I had to call my husband to drive to CVS from our home, to walk with me back to the Urgent Care office to see the doctor again. It was a very scary & upsetting experience. I have never had such a bad reaction to an injection before, not even to the two Covid vaccine shots that I received in April. And I have received steroid shots for my severe allergy symptoms many times in my life, with no severe pain afterward. The PA & the male nurse/assistant were both concerned & caring when my husband & I returned to their office. They allowed me to lay down on the exam table in an exam room, asked relevant questions & offered me water. However, the PA did not explain what caused my severely painful reaction to the shot. I was in too much pain to ask questions. Thankfully, after about 30 minutes laying down in the exam room, my pain subsided & I was able to walk out of the office with my husband at about 7:30 pm, 90 minutes after I first walked in. In spite of my very painful & scary reaction to the injection I received, I would still return to this Urgent Care office, due to the staff's promptness (almost zero wait time!), kindness & attentiveness. I don't blame the staff for the pain I experienced, although I did wonder if the shot would have hurt as badly if the male nurse had injected me lower on my bottom. But I didn't pull my pants down very far due to my embarrassment & he seemed sensitive to this! One suggestion: when the assistant & PA/doctor first greet patients in the reception area, at the scale, & exam room, they should ALL INTRODUCE THEMSELVES & state their title/job. ("I'm Mike & I'm an EMT. I'm Susan & I'm a Physician's Assistant.") This should be a standard practice at ALL doctor's offices, especially Urgent Care clinics. It can be uncomfortable & scary being treated by a complete stranger. I also received a presciption at this appt., which I was grateful for. The PA seemed to have a record of my previous visit there, which I appreciated. So overall, I would rate my experience at this office a 3 out of 5 stars, or 7 out of 10! And I will go back there if necessary, even though I had such a painful reaction to the injection. I hope this long review is helpful to you in providing excellent service to all patients at your Urgent Care. They provide an important service to the Glendora community. Thank you!

I came into Elite Urgent Care yesterday with a kidney stone (anyone who has had that experience knows the pain associated with kidney stones). The staff was very welcoming but better yet very efficient. I was being seen by the doctor inside of 20 minutes. After working through my symptoms the doctor’s first concern was getting the pain under control. That was exactly want I wanted to hear. I went to an ER the other two times that I’ve had kidney stones only to be left out in the waiting room in the fetal position after telling the staff I was a 10 out of 10 on their pain scale. I will always go to Elite Urgent Care for emergencies. By the way, I live 30 minutes away from their location. I passed up multiple ERs to get there. Thanks Elite Urgent Care!

Wonderful experience today. Scheduled an appt on line for a COVID test. They had immediate availability. Staff are professional, thorough and empathetic! I highly recommend a visit when in need! It is by far the best urgent care I have ever used!

The nurse at the front got me in and out very quickly and efficiently. I generally have say I would recommend this clinic. The professionalism was one of the best I have seen since COVID started. Many places are not the same anymore with professional treatment of patients. Well the job is super hard and half the people are not nice anymore and disrespectful to nurses. Well I can’t blame them because many professionals just get yelled at all day. I know that wares on the medical profession. This clinic kindness, professionalism, and efficiently is the best I have seen in over a year. I just have to say thank you for being such a professional well run clinic. It nice to see a little glimpse of normalcy from this awesome place. I highly recommend inland urgent care. I will definitely go again when ever I am in need of their services. Thank you Inland Urgent Care. I hope my review helps people by telling them that they can go to a place that treats people so well. Well, healing and making people better is there profession and they practice what they preach. I can’t say thank you enough.
