Short Wait Time

I sought out Lutheran Spine because at the time the pain clinic I was going to was not providing what I needed. From my first visit I felt that Dr. Ksiazek was a better fit. She took the time to listen to my concerns and was willing to explore more options then just medication and injections. I have been going to see Dr. Ksiazek and the team at Lutheran for about 8 months now. I still feel she take the time to here my concerns and continue to explore options to improve my quality of life. Beyond Dr. Ksiazek the entire team has been great. I have done a lot of PT and Susan Gates has been one of the best therapists I ever had. She also takes the time to here my concerns and listens to me when I say something is not working. I have also been seeing Dr. Milkavick for about 3 months. She has been very helpful in many areas of my life in that time. She is intelligent and able to keep up with my fast paced communication style. The fact that Lutheran has a Pain Psychologist under the same roof speaks for itself. I do not want to forget reception. Most doctors offices I have visited I feel like I am putting reception out by even walking in the door, no eye contact, long waits and having to call multiple times just to set an appointment are the norm in my experience. not at Lutheran Spine, I am always greeted within a few minutes of walking in regardless of how busy they are at the moment. When I call in they answer the phone more often than not and when I do leave a message they always return my call

About Tetanus Shots

A tetanus shot is used to prevent tetanus, also known as lockjaw. Tetanus is a bacterial infection that can lead to painful muscle spasms, and oftentimes, death. Adults in the US have to be vaccinated against tetanus because there's currently no cure for it and roughly 10 to 20 percent of victims die from tetanus. Symptoms of tetanus come from a toxin produced by tetanus bacteria and usually begin appearing about a week after the infection occurs. The most common symptom is muscle stiffness that begins in the jaw and spreads to the neck, arms, legs, or abdomen, but other symptoms include trouble swallowing, headache, fever and sweating, irritability and restlessness, high blood pressure, palpitations, and muscle spasms in the face.

It's important to get treated for tetanus as soon as you know you're infected because if it's not treated quickly enough, you can die from suffocation. Tetanus shots are given in the shoulder muscle. If you've never had a tetanus shot before, you might be given a three-dose primary series. You'll get the first dose as a three-in-one combination called Tdap that prevents tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and diphtheria (Td). The other two doses will usually be a dual vaccine and you'll receive them over a 7 to 12 month period. You should receive a tetanus vaccine between 2 months and 6 years old, as well as a teenager and an adult. Pregnant women might need a tetanus shot during the third trimester of pregnancy.
