CVS MinuteClinic is a retail clinic inside of CVS Pharmacy in Groton but unfortunately we don't currently know the hours in which the clinic is open. They are located at 915 Poquonnock Rd. Of course it's always best to call in advance to confirm hours of operation before walking in.

Retail clinics offer a wide range of services overlapping considerably with those of a traditional walk-in urgent care center. That said, they are usually staffed by a Practitioner (NP) rather than a medical doctor and generally do not have an on-site x-ray or lab services, which will prevent them from seeing patients with more advanced injuries and illnesses.

CVS MinuteClinic has received an average rating of 1.0 stars out of 5 across more than 1 total reviews.

My family is all sick with a sort throat, fever, chills, etc. We wanted a quick Strep test, so we scheduled an appointment with MinuteClinic in Groton yesterday evening. We waited patiently with our 1 year old son, eventually (much longer than the scree said), the nurse let us into the room. My wife scheduled the appointment (for 12/22), so she was going to have the Strep test done. The nurse (Anne I believe) asked for an ID and insurance card. I explained that my wife is from China and didn't know she needed her ID, and that she doesn't bring her passport everywhere. She said we couldn't have the test done since my wife didn't have an ID. I asked if I could have the test done instead since we are all sick with the same thing. The nurse scoffed at us, and said "That is ridiculous. You can't try to skirt US Federal laws by getting the medication and then giving it to your wife." That is absolutely rude and ridiculous of her to assume that. We just want to know if we have Strep or not! I tried to explain again and she just shook her head and chuckled and said "No, you cannot have a test done here". Never go to this place. The CVS manager was nice enough and acknowledged what happened was wrong, but CVS and MinuteClinic are separate entities so he couldn't do anything about the rude nurse Anne.
