I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

After receiving my results, I called Quest Lab Testing and discussed the results with a consultation. This consultation filled in my knowledge gaps and made me more aware of my particular situation.

The experience was painless organized and quick from registration to going through the drive thru for testing. The expetienced staff immediately made you relax and were so friendly. The test itself was so easy and quick as the staff talked you thru it to keep you comfortable. I don’t think I have ever experienced it to be so simple and quick. I highly recimmend here to get your test done with the mandate in place.

It is the Saturday before the Christmas weekend and they got me in immediately and efficiently diagnosed my bronchitis, did chest x-rays to double check, gave me both an inhaled steroid treatment and a steroid shot. They were kind, thorough, and professional. I left feeling so much better than I did when I came i, and have a prescription to keep me on the path to recovery. The care I received could not have been better.

Getting Tested for STDs in Midway, FL

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active, regardless of age, should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is especially important for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested, as some STDs can cause complications during pregnancy and may be passed on to the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial step in maintaining your overall health. Many STDs do not show symptoms in the early stages, and without testing, they can go unnoticed and untreated. This can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.

STD testing options in Midway, FL:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day STD testing. In Midway, FL, Patients First in Tallahassee is a trusted provider with multiple locations. They offer short wait times and friendly staff, ensuring a comfortable testing experience. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at Patients First through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for STD testing. They can provide a comprehensive health check, including STD testing, during a regular check-up. If you have a long-standing relationship with your primary care provider, this may be a comfortable and convenient option for you.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. These centers often operate on a sliding scale, meaning the cost of testing is based on your income.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits provide a private and convenient option for those who prefer not to visit a clinic. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then mailed to a lab for testing. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Midway

According to the CDC, the prevalence of STDs in Midway, FL, and the surrounding Leon County is concerning. While the exact numbers vary, the rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are higher than the national average. The trend over time shows a steady increase in STD cases, mirroring the national trend.

Risk factors related to STDs in Midway

Several risk factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Midway. These include a lack of comprehensive sex education, limited access to healthcare, and high poverty rates. Additionally, stigma around STD testing can deter people from getting tested and treated. Efforts to address these risk factors are crucial in controlling the spread of STDs in the community.
