She was screaming in pain from 9 AM until 1230 PM, any movement caused her pain and she has been grabbing on her private. She had not peed since 4/10/21 around 8 Pm. We arrived at 1130. I did not put a diaper on her as the nurse said that they could also cause irritation if she had a yeast infection, so she was wearing underwear and loose fitting leggings. After the nurse left, Sydney peed a very small amount. I pulled down her pants maybe an inch just so they wouldn't cause any more irritation as they were wet. Her buttcrack was sticking out slightly, her belly was against me. Dr Davis came in, while Sydney was screaming in pain, I apologized that Sydneys pants were slightly pulled down and explained the situation. He asked why she was naked. I said she was not naked, I explained the situation again, and stated that I did not want to cause her any more pain . He interrupted me and told me his name, then told me again that she was not allowed to be naked in the room. Again, explained everything for the third time, and said that we were in a private room with the dr and myself (her mother) then I pulled up her pants anyways just so he would actually see her. Dr Davis could not quite comprehend why I didn't have a diaper on her, and took it as Sydney does not like wearing diapers anymore. Dr Davis seemed to mostly be concerned about why Sydney did not have a diaper on and if we were potty training. Again, the visit had nothing to do involving her in regards to whether or not she wears a diaper and if she is potty training. As Dr Davis and I went back and fourth as he clearly wasn't listening to anything I was saying, he then decided to finally check her diaper area. Sydney was crying so bad that she actually puked up slimy, white mucus type stuff. He was clearly not taught how to interact with children, as he forcefully moved her head to check her ears since she is 2 and in pain and was not cooperating. He said there is normal white discharge, but she had no rash, so she did not have a yeast infection. He then informed me that they would possibly need a urine sample, but that their office did not have catheters for children her age. At this point, I was very annoyed. Sydney was screaming and crying in pain still. Dr Davis said he would consult with the nurses and Dr to see what else to do. He insisted on bringing her a snack and an apple juice, regardless of me saying that she most likely would not eat or drink because she was hysterically crying. Sydney did not eat or drink any of it. While he was consulting, Sydney peed on my lap and was crying during. It was probably around 20 or more ounces of pee. As soon as she finished peeing, she instantly stopped crying. I mentioned this and he said that it may be time to start potty training her. That since she will not leave her diaper on, that she may be holding in her pee because she does not want to pee in the diaper. Even though I told him multiple times that she rarely pulls her diaper off, and has never held her pee before. I said that I believed she was holding her pee because it hurts when she pees. Or possibly an infection, blockage, anything. Also, how would it be possible for a 2 year old to completely control her urine overnight for 8+ hours while sleeping. He said they were not doing an ultrasound, they had no access to be able to take a urine sample, but that I should consult with her pediatrician. Then he put in her notes that he addressed "Retention of urine and Crying". It should be addressed why a doctor is so uncomfortable with seeing two inches of a child's buttcrack, and why a doctor is incapable of comprehending what a parent is trying to explain numerous times.
