Short Wait Time

I wish I could book through solv but my clinic doesn’t participate. But that being said this place is wonderful. I have been taking the family to the same dr (practice) since 1992! Great how it has grown and kept up the same excellent service.

About Gonorrhea Testing

Who should get tested for gonorrhea?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sexually active individuals, especially those with multiple partners, should get tested for gonorrhea. This is particularly crucial for those aged 25-40, as this age group is often at a higher risk. Pregnant women should also get tested to avoid passing the infection to their newborns.

Importance of getting tested

Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. According to the Mayo Clinic, these complications can include infertility in both men and women, increased risk of getting or transmitting HIV, and potentially life-threatening complications during pregnancy. By getting tested, you can ensure early detection and treatment, thereby reducing your risk of these complications.

Gonorrhea testing options in Caldwell, ID:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

There are several urgent care and walk-in clinics in Caldwell and nearby cities, such as Oasis Medical Center & Urgent Care in Eagle, ID. These facilities often offer same-day or next-day appointments, which you can book through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers, such as Primary Health in Boise, ID, also offer gonorrhea testing. It's important to note that you might need to schedule an appointment in advance, so plan accordingly.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those with limited financial resources, free STD testing and community health centers can be a viable option. These facilities often provide low-cost or free testing services to the community.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for gonorrhea are also available. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing, providing a convenient and private option for those who prefer not to visit a clinic.

Prevalence of gonorrhea in Caldwell

Caldwell, located in Canyon County, ID, has seen a rise in gonorrhea cases over the years, mirroring the national trend. According to the CDC, gonorrhea rates have been increasing across the country, and Caldwell is no exception. While the city's rates are lower than some nearby counties like Elko County and Beaverhead County, they are higher than others like Custer County and Valley County.

Risk factors related to gonorrhea in Caldwell

Risk factors for gonorrhea in Caldwell are similar to those in other cities. These include having multiple sexual partners, inconsistent condom use, and previous or co-existing sexually transmitted infections. The presence of other STIs, such as chlamydia, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis, can also increase the risk of contracting gonorrhea.

Other STDs in Caldwell

In addition to gonorrhea, other common STDs in Caldwell include chlamydia, HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis. Like gonorrhea, these infections can lead to serious health issues if left untreated, underscoring the importance of regular testing.
