The staff was extremely friendly and compassionate. They made sure I felt comfortable, listened to my concerns and were very reassuring. They answered all of my questions with detailed answers. Although I was a walk in they made me feel like a long time patient.

On two occasions we have had our 30-month-old son treated at the KidMed Stafford VA office. On both occasions the intake staff were kind and courteous, the wait time was brief, and the caregiver exhibited well-developed bedside manner. Our son was treated with dignity and with respect, was examined and diagnosed, and during one visit the staff actually provided a dose of children's pain reliever and a popsicle! I highly recommend KidMed when your pediatrician's office is closed or is too busy to see your child. Thank you, KidMed Staff.

The doctor wanted to give my children a nebulizer. I specifically asked if it was covered by my insurance the doctor went to check, came back and assured me it was. Sent a nurse in to show me how to use it, I asked her again if it was covered by insurance since she was having me sign a paper saying I would be responsible if insurance didn’t cover it; she assured me it was protocol and that they had confirmed that it would be covered. Never received a bill. Fast forward to the next time we go in, we were told we had to pay $97 for the nebulizer if we wanted our daughter to be seen. I would never recommend KidMed to anyone ever again. If they confirmed that my insurance covered it and then they didn’t, then they should have wrote that off and not charged me for it. It’s only $97, but it’s principle. I will definitely not be back.

I would highly suggest staying away from Kid Med Pediatric Urgent Care. My kids are usually seen in a timely manner and I like their hours BUT my adopted nephew (African American) was denied care because my brother-in-law (Caucasian) didn’t have custody papers...even though he was adopted at birth. They said they are private and have the rights to deny care. That is ridiculous and bizarre and, in my opinion unethical. I will be looking everywhere for places to leave a bad review for them, and will, from now on be taking my kids to ANOTHER urgent care.... Update: after talking with my brother-in-law when he got home from having to go to another urgent care. He went and signed in, sat down for a moment, and then was called up to be asked point blank if he was my nephew’s biological dad. He said the woman told him that they are a privately owned urgent care and that this is their policy. She said, and I quote, “We don’t know where you got him from...” this is discrimination at its finest! Is it because he was black while my brother-in-law is white? Please share this so that the CEO will change his policies and the person responsible for their discriminatory comments will be educated, and that no other family will be denied care because of this ridiculous “rule” (is this even a rule or was this lady just having a bad day and therefore lied) The fact that my nephew was present and heard everything is infuriating...to be told that you can’t be given aid because the only father you have ever known doesn’t have “custody papers”? Ridiculous, I will never go to this place again and I will be telling everyone I know not to be going there as well.
