Dr Burns is compassionate and listens, often in my experience, doctors are more concerned about watching the clock rather than addressing patients concerns. I have not experienced that even once with Dr Burns. From the staff working the front desk to the nurses to the billing department, I have felt heard and respected. Dr Burns has been my family doctor since 2001, I will not look for another doctor. Period.

Getting Tested for STDs in Ottawa, KS

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the CDC, sexually active individuals, particularly those with multiple partners, should be tested regularly for STDs. This includes individuals who are in non-monogamous relationships, those who have had unprotected sex, and those who have never been tested before. Testing is also recommended for those who have been forced to engage in sexual activity or those who use intravenous drugs. In Ottawa, KS, it is crucial for these groups to get tested to prevent the spread of STDs in the community.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical part of maintaining overall health and preventing the spread of these diseases. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they present no symptoms, so individuals could be infected without knowing it. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of serious health complications. Furthermore, knowing one's STD status can help prevent the transmission of these diseases to others.

Risk factors related to STDs in Ottawa

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Ottawa. These include a lack of awareness about the importance of regular testing, limited access to healthcare services, and social stigma associated with STDs. It's important for individuals in Ottawa to understand these risk factors and take necessary precautions to protect their health.
