Serving as a primary care provider in the Dallas area, Lakewood Family Health sees mostly an appointment-driven patient population, however, they may support walk-in patients during certain hours. It appears as though their practice is routinely open 5 days a week at their clinic located at 6331 Prospect Ave with today's hours being 8:00AM to 5:00PM. It is certainly best to call the clinic to schedule an appointment, or ask about walk-in availability.

All they want is to collect a copay for every little thing and have you come back over and over. I was in the office for a refill in December. It was sent to my pharmacy, but in 2024 my insurance is no longer accepted by that pharmacy. I called to have them resend the prescription to Walgreens, and they said I would need to be seen again. It is robbery and poor medical care to hold medications hostage, especially when you sent them already but because of an insurance issue out of my hands, you are squeezing me for another copay on a plan that has a deductible that just reset.

My family recently moved to Dallas, and was recommended to this practice. My son was very sick when we arrived and we were in there over a dozen times within a few months. Dr Kendra and the other nurses we saw could not have been nicer. My husband then went a few months ago and came home and said he had a guy and found him rude and rushed. I told him I loved it there and to try again and just ask for someone else next time. I called today to make an appointment and was told by the Office Manager that our whole family was canceled and not welcome to come back because my husband was rude to them. Of course this was the first I was hearing of this. I tried to get details and asked multiple times what he did. I specifically asked if he yelled at someone multiple times and she finally responded "No but his tone was rude and unprofessional" . WHAT??? Apparently a staff - not a doctor or nurse - called to give him test results and he was not happy and told them he wanted to discuss them with a Dr or Nurse, not a staff member. The Office Manager admittedly said "He did NOT yell or curse but his tone was very rude and they don't put up with that" and so canceled our whole family. She said “He can’t talk to MY staff like that”. I asked if this was her practice and she told me no, she was the manager. I told her I didn’t agree with this policy and that even if there was an issue with my husband that canceling my son and I without notice was wrong. I asked to speak to the doctor and she refused. She said she sent a certified letter - I asked for a receipt since I never got the letter - and her answer was "I don't work for the USPS". I guess it’s okay for the staff to be rude, just not the patients? I told her that I was offended by how this was being handled and was going to tell everyone I knew about this experience and she said "Its threats like this why we won't see your family" and hung up on me. So that's a threat? Telling people the FACTS about my horrible experience with woman and her canceling my family because she was offended by my husband’s tone is a threat? Are complaints not welcome in this office? Are clients routinely dismissed if they disagree with something? Or is it just that a complaint has to be delivered in a manner or tone deemed acceptable by the Office Manager otherwise your canceled? I mean it’s insane. So sad because all the Dr's I've seen there were wonderful but they get what they deserve if they are allowing her to behave like this.

scheduled, as a new patient with this office. Subsequently, both of my kiddos became sick and needed to stay home from school in addition to going to see their providers. I called Lakewood Family Health to inform them of this (a day before my appointment, during business hours) asking if I could reschedule due to my kiddo’s health. They said that they would charge me a 50 dollar fee for rescheduling (whether I cancelled or not). They suggested that I put my kids in the car with me (SICK), and still attend appointment, if I wanted to a kind the 50 dollar fee. I could not believe this was the response and that they would still charge me 50 dollars. The front office staff evidently confirmed with her manager that this was the protocol they would choose to follow- to have 2 sick kids in a car and/or charge 50 dollars for a rescheduling or cancel. Unfortunately this is very telling that money takes priority over health and family for sure.

This is the worst place to go to for your health concerns. They never want to work and get mad when you call them to get things done. They are very lazy and are just there to collect a check with no care for their patients or their patients care. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Hate I had to even click one star because they don’t deserve that.

Myself as well as my family and spouse have been coming here for years. My previous PCP Maurica was amazing! Always fun, happy and understanding. She was very helpful and offered a lot of advice and encouragement. Unfortunately this is not the case for the new Provider that took her place NP Lauren Payne has regrettably been very disappointing in a forcible manner. I have been refused my much needed medication for anxiety because I cannot afford to get a physical. Paying out of pocket for every visit becomes expensive and now I am told she refuses to refill my medication after months of the last refill because I cannot get a physical at this time. Covid has put a lot of people in a very bad spot financially and I find this extremely rude, greedy and potentially dangerous especially with in person visits potentially exposing me to Covid. There’s absolutely no reason I need to have a physical done except for the fact that they are enjoying the cash payments. I have been denied my medication based on absolutely nothing. Young new NP’s should be encouraged to follow in the steps of previous providers and not try and change the script. If I wind up in the ER because of an intense anxiety attack I know exactly where to send my lawyer and bill. My family and I will no longer be using Lakewood Family Health as our medical provider. I have nothing bad to say about the other NP’s here. An extremely regrettable forced shame.
