Local MD Urgent Care, Skokie - Now Open

I had a rough time in the ER for 18 hours, but Local MD on Dempster Ave in Skokie made me feel better with their caring staff. They sorted my prescription and insurance promptly, and I'm grateful for their exceptional care. Highly recommend them to family and friends! Thank you, Local MD!

This place SUCKS! Rude unprofessional - They still haven't reimbursed me for a test my insurance paid them for last year. I am calling Eyewitness news to investigate them.

Staff is very unprofessional, impatient and rude. Admin staff said not to bother her and hung up the phone. Requested to speak to clinic manager Raj who didn't really care either and says his staff were stressed. He did however respond to our queries.

Went to Ultramed Urgent Care as a referral from my Doctor to get a COVID test for surgery. If you have ever had a COVID test you know that it is NOT pleasant. Several hours after my test was done I received a call and was told that the test tubes that they used were faulty and that they were getting new ones and I would have to come back to have the test re-done. Not only is my time valuable and I would have to make time to go back, I certainly did not want to have the test done again, twice in one day. Completely unacceptable. I did speak to my Doctors office to let them know what happend and suggest that they find another facility to send their surgery patients to. I cancelled my appointment and went to another provider. Also, Ultra Med does not file your insurance claim for the $180.00 for the test. You have to pay upfront and file your claim with your Insurance company and get a refund. Which is fine, however, they did not tell me that when they made the appointment. They told me once I was there.

I received a pre-surgery Covid-19 test at this clinic on 7/27 for a surgery that was scheduled for three days later. I had to pay $180 up front. Then, due to delays in getting results, I was told by my surgeon that the results would not be available in time so I had to go to another clinic for a rapid test. When I called the UltrMed for refund, the staff person told me the delays were caused by the lab they used and not by them so there would be no refund. This clinic should be getting the money back from the lab, not from me. I received nothing for my payment, except another trip back for a second Covid test.
