NEVER EVER EVER EVER GO HERE FOR CARE. Went in for an (urgent) lab test and did not have any issues with the front desk staff, wait time was fine. When I went back for the test I communicated with the provider what I needed and communicated what I did not need run for the lab. They communicated to me that they understood and would only run labs for the requested test. I was very surprised to receive a large bill in the mail for the tests that the provider told me they did not need to run and would not be billing. Also very surprised that no one ever called me to give the results of said test(s). If you were running the tests in good faith - why wouldn't you follow up with the patient with the results? Maybe because we had the discussion that I did not need those tests?? I have been trying to work with staff and see what my options are on this for a very long time and have continually been ignored; no calls returned, no email follow up. It's really sad that patients rights are not respected and that this process has to be so draining. If I had known that the other tests would be done and billed I would have kindly thanked the provider for their time, refused care, and made an appointment with a lab or GP elsewhere. As patients we should be able to communicate with our providers and have our needs listened to. This location is not worth the hassle in surprise billing and horrible customer service that follows. Will never seek out MedStar urgent care in the future if this is how they conduct their business and treat patients.
