NextCare Urgent Care, Elizabeth City - 615 S Hughes Blvd, Elizabeth City
My care was exceptional & the staff were very friendly & professional. Eventhough I booked 1 day ahead the wait time was extremely long. I waited almost 3 hrs past my appt. time.

Stat File Medical & DNA, Physicals - 5511 Princess Anne Rd
This was absolutely the most pleasant experience from start to finish. Every person on the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and greets you with a smile, the facility is clean, and the wait time is practically nonexistent. Booking through Solv was an added bonus and made planning our visit a breeze. I would absolutely come here again and recommend it to others.

I called ahead to this location and was told there were about nine people already waiting to be seen, and that that was consistent for the day up to my call. I also tried calling other locations without any success - the phone number was bad or nobody answered the call. So I went and was pleasantly surprised to see only one person in the lobby. I was assisted much sooner than expected. The longest delay was waiting for the doctor to arrive in my room, but even that was not too long. I left the building feeling very good about the services at this location.

Fantastic staff, very welcoming environment, spotless clean and very knowledgeable staff that loves what they do. Not much turnover in staff, so it’s nice to see familiar faces especially when your sick.

When they answered the phone, very professional. Very kind, answered question about Covid test for travel. Went for testing, quick and had results properly filled out for cruising. Can’t thank them enough for their help.

I brought my daughter in for stitches. There was no wait and they treated her quickly. I’ve been to ERs for similar issues and have easily spent hours waiting for one or two stitches, so I was so surprised to be in an out in less than hour. The doctor here was so friendly and so reassuring to my daughter. The nurses made sure that my daughter was comfortable and helped assuage her fears. I would give the experience ten stars if I could.

This is my second time to this facility. Each time everyone was courteous, kind, and very helpful. What I like most is that they listen to you, they let you know that whatever you are there for it’s important. From the person that checks in to the doctor, they are all thoughtful, kind, and with great bedside manners. Thank you for a pleasant experience because honestly no one wants to go to the doctor.

This is my second visit to this patient first location, both times I was seen very quickly and the treatment prescribed had me feeling better within days. I was seen yesterday by Dr. Crooks, he was kind, he listened and he explained everything I asked. I left with the medication I needed, went home and took Dr. Crooks advice and tossed out the nasal spray that was making my condition worse, took my meds and a nap. When I woke up I already felt better. Today less than24 hours later, there is 90% improvement in my breathing and coughing and 100% improvement in my state of mind! I was also given a chest X-ray and had blood work done. All staff members were very nice and respectful . I would 100% recommend Dr.Crooks and this location to anyone. I was in and out in an hour and twenty minutes at the most. Very satisfied customer- and you can post this if you like!😘

The front desk attendant was not very pleasant. She just looked like she didn't want to be there and talked really softly, therefore,I could barely hear her. The COVID-19 test went fine. I just had to go back in for my results after 45 minutes due to the fact that I did not receive the phone call to tell me my results were ready. The test results were to take 15-20 minutes. I'm pretty sure they were back within that time frame, but apparently I slipped thru the cracks. Other than that all went well!

I have NEVER had an issue here. Everyone is always friendly and the facility is always clean. I have been going here for over 20 years. Yes, sometimes there is a little but if a wait but it is never excessive and it’s normal for a health care facility.

There are no real industry standards, so not all walk-in clinics are the same in terms of services or pricing. Even though the clinics will charge different prices, depending on location, the base prices range between $75 and $125. That is for the normal services and not specialized ones. You should expect to incur additional costs if you require a special service or medication such as a lab test, an X-ray, or an immunization shot. These may range between $50 and $150, again depending on location. Of course, these costs apply only when you are paying in cash as opposed to using your insurance policy. If you are walking in with insurance, on the other hand, you can expect to co-pay around $20-$50, depending on location, your plan and whether you are in network with the provider.

  • Is insurance accepted at walk-in clinics in South Mills?

Each insurer determines if their plans cover walk-in clinics or not. Your insurer may not cover that, which is the reason why you should always call ahead and be sure before walking in for treatment with your insurance plan. Most plans cover that though so it is highly likely that your nearest walk-in clinic will say yes when you call to find out if they accept insurance plans.

  • Is a walk-in clinic a substitute for a primary care physician?

While walk-in clinics treat most minor injuries and illnesses, it is generally not a good idea to substitute them for a primary care physician. These facilities exist to supplement, not replace, primary care providers which may be closed in the evenings or on weekends and holidays. Using a walk-in clinic as your primary care provider may limit your access to healthcare due to the lower capacity of these facilities compared to a regular medical facility. Additionally, you may have trouble seeing the same provider visit to visit, so they may have very little awareness of your medical needs on an on-going basis.

  • What’s the difference between an urgent care and walk-in clinic?

Walk-in clinic, urgent care center, convenient care clinic, immediate care clinic, and retail clinic are terms that are (too) often used interchangeably, creating confusion amongst patients. In essence, any healthcare facility that lets patients walk-in to get treatment without an advance appointment could be considered a walk-in clinic.

An urgent care center, on the other hand, is a subtype of the walk-in clinic model that generally provides expanded services and extended hours. Retail clinics, which are another type of walk-in clinic, offer fewer services compared to the former. In addition, they are located inside of retail outlets or pharmacies, typically staffed by a nurse practitioner and generally cheaper than walk-in clinics.

  • What is a walk-in clinic?

Walk-ins is a term used to describe a wide variety of clinics that accept patients without prior appointments. Different types of walk-ins include retail, urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care clinics that offer walk-in hours. Even though it is difficult to calculate the exact number of walk-in clinics that exist in the United States given the variable and vaguely-defined nature of the category, 15,000 facilities are estimated to be around. While the majority of the facilities are government, charity or foundation, offering free services, many are private, providing extremely affordable rates.

  • Where can I find and book a walk in clinic appointment in South Mills?

Solv allows visitors to book walk in clinic visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

Your Solv App messed up big time. I went on the system early Sunday evening for an appointment for Monday at *** am. That's what appointment time I chose because it was one of 2 appointments left. I show up at *** and when I check in the lady says nothing to me about checking me in as a Walk In? An hour and a half later I walk up and ask what's going on, I had an appointment at *** and she says oh I checked you in as a walk in. No I have an appointment at ***. She then ask if I received a text for the appointment? I looked and nothing was sent to me. As I'm waiting for over an hour and a half now, another lady walked in and said she has an appointment and she said she did it with her phone and the lady says we don't show an appointment for you. She was going to get checked in as a walk in also but when she found out people have been waiting for an hour and a half already she declined and left. Your Solv App Sucks!

I waited 3 hours for an appointment that I was very short of breath and very sick. I think people who walk in should be the ones who wait hours

This location on University just west of Texas Ave was great. I contacted the other 2 locations on University east of Hwy 6 and Jones Crossing both told me they were not accepting walk in's. For something to be called urgent care and not accept walk in appointments is no different than a normal clinic. After my daughter got seen and was prognosed I was aking the doctor why the other 2 locations weren't walk in's, he told me that they don't deny the care for children regardless if they are taking walk ins or not. The other 2 locations were aware that the patient was a 20 month old with flu like symptoms and was denied to be seen. So it you want to have a great experience make you use the Integrity Urgent Care west of Texas Ave.

Everytime myself or my kids have visited the Mercy in Columbus NC, weve always had the same woman doctor. Each time, shes been the best doc ever. Shes polite, very well mannered, and cares alot for her patients. I get so happy when i see her walk in the room. Mercy is very lucky to have her. I highly recommend the office. Especially if shes working!

Walk-in, no appointment. Waited outside the tent a bit for 2 people in a group of 3 ahead of me but it was pretty quick. Staff checked my name spelling several times. Check-in staff asked for reason to visit and asked for ID unlike the staff at my first time tested at this same location whom did not ask for ID or reason other than name and phone number. Swabber told will swab for 10 seconds each nostril unlike the first visit too. Overall it’s an improvement (although no line at all for walk-in during last visits). I’m also working at a COVID testing pop-up tent so I understand the routine and challenges all staff on site may have to perform and face regularly. Just hope to reflect my experience honestly as this testing service is important. Very appreciate all the services and big thanks to all staff on site, in the lab and others behind the scene! :)

I was there for an covid test first of all. I arrived at 4 as a waitlist walk in, with was ok. I want on when I saw 4 ppl and one family go ahead of me when they arrived after me. The staff kept pulling names to pull to the back and one of them literally picked up my card, looked at it, put it back in the pile and grab another persons card in front of my face. At this time it has been an HR since I arrived. I asked a staff member how do the figure who comes back first? She said, “well normally we take care of the visions with appointments first then side walk ins between.” So I told her, indigo needs a better system because it was really rude what happened in front of my face and to me. You need to get TWO baskets that are labeled “appointments” “walk-ins”, so the customer doesn’t feel neglected or rejected waiting their turn. If you do that then the client be less stressed. We had such a great experience here tonight. It was almost closing time, and my daughter was a walk-in. We did not need an office visit, only the PCR test. I panicked a bit when I saw that we were the 16th ones in line, considering she's young and it was almost 9:00 p.m. . However, within 5 minutes, I received a text from Christine, stating that she found our script and chart, and we should be good to get our swab in the triage room or covid test parking spots. Everything moved along seamlessly after that, and the longest portion of the wait was just to give our address and insurance information. Despite how many visibly sick children were in the waiting room, and how impatient some of them were getting, the staff remained friendly and helpful the entire time. I am so grateful for their help, especially knowing how burnt out they must be at this point. We didn't feel an ounce of that ❤️. Thank you all!!

I have taken my grandkids here before, so when the VA referred their walk-in services to me, I was grateful and trusted their team from my previous experiences with their clinic services. New customer check-in took about three minutes in the office, I waited in the car to fill out forms online on my cell phone, and was called immediately after the paperwork was submitted. I estimate that about 6 or 7 patients were being seen at the same time in the mid-afternoon, maybe more. The staff checked my vitals, did three tests (COVID, strep throat, influenza), and I was seen within 20 minutes with all results of these tests. The overall check by April Beltran (APN) was efficient, covered all of my visit needs, and all of the visit went fine. Thank you. High marks.

I love this place the staff is amazing from the time you walk in the door til the time you get to the back. However I would recommend that the medical assistant nurse or whatever her title maybe to wear gloves especially at a time like this. It scared me seeing her take my temperature with no gloves being that close to my face During the Corona outbreak. Then she scared me even more when she went to give me a shot with no gloves. I made mention of it and she told me she's been doing that for three years and she's fine. She was very nice as well that just threw me off a little bit with all this going on. Not only do we want to be protected from the medical staff but the medical staff needs to be protected from us as well. Other than that I love this place.

Covid-19 Test as a walk-in at 09:00 am. No appointment. Within 30 minutes I was checked in, tested Negative, and left by 09:30. The staff and the PAC provided outstanding service. I highly recommend the Wake Forest Road office. John Wardlaw

This is my favorite place to get care! The staff are kind and knowledgeable and the exam rooms are clean. However, the wait times since COVID have been a nightmare. They switched to all walk-ins now having to schedule an appointment time. They run out of slots so quickly that when I booked through solv somewhere between 3-5am, the earliest available appointment time was already 4pm! Also the ladies at the front desk used to be very nice but they are very rude now idk if they are overwhelmed or what but they aren’t as kind as they were pre COVID lol and that stinks when you already don’t feel good. The bathroom at the front was super dirty during our visit. Also, there should be more than just 1 bathroom out front. The water fountain is blocked off and they are charging $2.75 for literally the cheapest bottle water in existence! It isn’t even Aquafina or Dasani. This place has been a nightmare ever since COVID. We spent 3 hours there and 2 of those hours were spent waiting for care even though we scheduled online and we were on time, they were behind so we had to wait.

Great Experience! We checked in as a walk-in and registered through Solv. This is a great approach during the Pandemic. Very Professional Experience !

Walk-in Clinics in South Mills

Nowadays, convenience reigns supreme. In a world when "next day shipping" is being surpassed by "same day shipping," who wants to wait weeks for an appointment with their primary care physician? There are several types of walk-in clinics, including urgent care, pediatric urgent care, retail clinics, and others. These convenient care sites offer qualified providers who can diagnose and treat a variety of minor injuries and illnesses on the same day. If you've ever wondered, "Where can I find a walk-in clinic in South Mills?" you've come to the right place.

When you need medical help right away, the last thing you want to do is travel to a neighboring clinic just to find out it is closed. It was such a waste of time. Instead, look for a walk-in clinic that is currently accepting patients. It's sometimes more important that the location is "open now" than how close it is or if it has good patient feedback. It's conceivable that all you want is a quick diagnosis and treatment so you can get back to your normal routine. Based on your area, Solv has compiled a list of walk-in clinics that are now operating. The most relevant, closest, and highest rated results are automatically shown first for your convenience.

Walk-in Clinic Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why walk-in clinics have been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “walk-in clinic near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Walk-in clinics typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as minor injuries like cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. Urgent care centers, which are one type of walk-in clinic that usually have medical doctors and x-ray equipment on-site, expand even further on these services. And at a growing rate walk-in clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

Walk-in Clinic Services & Pricing

Walk-in clinics, which include urgent care, retail clinics and others, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at a walk-in clinic including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. Depending on the type of clinic you visit, you could also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $75-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all walk-in clinics take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $25-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $75-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Walk-in Clinic Hours & Wait Times

Every walk-in clinic - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that most walk-in clinics are open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find a walk-in clinic near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
