This is the second time in three days that I have been to this facility. A couple of days ago I had accidentally used Hibiclens to soak my contacts in and really burned my eyes. Ryan saw me immediately and flushed my eyes and gave me some drops to ease the pain. Then he made an appointment for me with an ophthalmologist and I was seen and treated within two hours. On top of all that he took the time after hours to call my phone to check in on me. Extraordinary care and concern! My wife made an appointment for herself this morning through Soly. We saw Ryan again. There was no waiting and again received excellent care. Many thanks to the whole staff and team.

Quick affordable place to get a physical. Pretty hassle free bit they definitely need a different booking software. Softwaree wasn't relatively hard but not as compatible with cell phones. The staff wasn't rude but not really friendly either. And the fact that they weren't very accommodating was off putting. Thought they had the sports physical forms. They didn't. Asked could I print. They advised they couldn't. I get it but even for a small fee it may have been nice of them to be a little more accommodating. It was my first time using a place like this and so I was new to all this. They were very nonchalant just like no we don't do this. No we can't do this. All and all an economical place to go to

Getting Tested for STDs in Summerfield, NC

Who should get tested for STDs?

Any sexually active person can contract an STD, regardless of age, gender, race, or sexual orientation. However, certain individuals may be at a higher risk than others. According to the CDC, those who should consider regular STD testing include sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, people with multiple partners, and anyone who has unprotected sex. It's also recommended for individuals who have been forced to have intercourse or engage in sexual activity against their will.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical step in maintaining your overall health. Many STDs do not show symptoms, making regular testing the only way to know for sure if you have an infection. Early detection can lead to quicker treatment, reducing the risk of severe health complications such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. It also helps prevent the spread of the infection to others.

STD testing options in Summerfield, NC:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day STD testing services. These facilities, like the highly-rated Novant Health- GoHealth Urgent Care in nearby Greensboro, NC, provide quick and confidential testing. You can easily book appointments at these clinics through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider is another great resource for STD testing. They can provide you with a comprehensive exam, discuss your sexual health risks, and recommend appropriate tests. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one in the Summerfield area.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often provide free or low-cost STD testing. These centers are a valuable resource, especially for those without insurance or with limited financial resources. It's important to note that availability may vary, and some may require appointments.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for STD testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. This option offers privacy and convenience, but it's essential to ensure the test is from a reliable source.

Prevalence of STDs in Summerfield

Summerfield, located in Forsyth County, NC, has seen a rise in STD rates in line with national trends. While specific data for Summerfield is not readily available, Forsyth County has experienced an increase in cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, according to the CDC. This upward trend mirrors the situation in nearby counties, including Raleigh and Fayette counties.

Risk factors related to STDs in Summerfield

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Summerfield. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and a lack of regular testing. Socioeconomic factors such as access to healthcare, education level, and income can also impact STD rates. It's critical to understand these risk factors and take proactive steps towards prevention and regular testing.

  • What STDs can be detected by a blood test?

Blood tests are used to diagnose hepatitis B, hepatitis C, herpes, HIV, and syphilis. In a laboratory, a technician examines a blood sample for antibodies that the body has produced in reaction to disease. The virus's DNA can also be detected by several blood tests. For home STD kits, a blood sample, a urine sample, or both are frequently required. Because doctors and nurses have more experience collecting samples, traditional in-office STD testing is the most accurate.
