I received texts prior to coming in confirming my appointment and the a text to check in when i arrived. Heidi took my insurance card and ID the saw me to a room. She took thorough history of symptoms, and check with Melissa APRN to see whst tests to run! Heidi explained test and how it would go and length of time it would take. Melissa was friendly took thorough history and explained all the tests she would run and how long results would take. In mean time she prescribed medications and informed me when test results would likely be back. Melissa also included what OTC remedies I could use for symptoms. Overall a great experience especially when I was feeling so awful. Great job highly recommend to others in this community! Thank you!.

Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Dr. McClellan was professional and knowledgeable. She was very patient and took her time listening to my concerns. She did devalue my worries but listened to me. I got an ultrasound and luckily everything was fine. The staff was friendly and the site was clean . I would recommend it to everyone and go again if I couldn’t get into my primary care Doctor .

So I have been dealing with this what I thought was just a cold or flu virus for 3 weeks now. Showed up between 7:05 and 7:10 and they were closed but a staff member who was walking out the door could see I wasn’t feeling very well, so they let me in and saw me on the spot. Turns out I had a sinus infection and was prescribed some antibiotics which helped clear it up. This was my 2nd trip to this urgent care in a year and must say I am thoroughly satisfied. Sometimes we just see negative reviews on places so I felt the need to share how this place went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Thanks doc for making me feel like I mattered. Thanks to the lady for letting me in after they closed (thought they closed at 8).

Getting Tested for STDs in Norwood, OH

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the CDC, sexually active adults, especially those with multiple partners, should get tested regularly for STDs. This includes individuals who are in a monogamous relationship as well. Those who engage in unprotected sex, share needles for drug use, or have had an STD in the past are also at a higher risk and should consider regular testing. It's important to remember that many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no signs or symptoms. Therefore, regular testing is crucial for early detection and treatment.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. Undiagnosed and untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection, which can lead to more effective treatment and prevent the spread of the disease to others. According to the CDC, regular STD testing is also an essential part of prenatal care for pregnant women, as some STDs can have severe effects on an unborn child.

Std testing options in Norwood, OH:

Both clinics have high ratings for their friendly staff, short wait times, and cleanliness. You can book same-day or next-day appointments at these locations through Solv's website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider is another option for STD testing. They can provide you with a comprehensive sexual health check-up and refer you to a specialist if necessary. However, it's essential to be aware that some STD tests may not be included in a regular check-up, so be sure to specify your needs.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing is available at community health centers in and around Norwood. These centers often operate on a sliding fee scale, where the amount you pay depends on your income.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another convenient option. These tests can be ordered online, done in the privacy of your home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are usually available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Norwood

Norwood, located in Hamilton County, has seen a steady increase in STD rates over the years, mirroring the national trend. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in this area are Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. The rates of these STDs are higher in Norwood than in nearby counties such as Bullitt County and Madison County.

Risk factors related to STDs in Norwood

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Norwood. These include a high rate of unprotected sex, drug use, and lack of access to quality healthcare and education about STDs. The close proximity to larger cities like Dayton and Cincinnati also contributes to the higher STD rates, as these cities often have higher STD rates due to their larger populations and higher rates of risky behaviors.
