The reason I didnt give them a 5 is because the guy Kevin at front desk needs to learn to be friendly. Dont work at front desk if you do not want to deal with people and be friendly. He was very rude. The rest of the employees at this center are real friendly and helpful.

Getting Tested for STDs in El Reno, OK

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes individuals who are in monogamous relationships, as well as those who have multiple partners. It's particularly important for those who have unprotected sex, share needles for drug use, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD to get tested. According to the CDC, sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV should be tested regularly due to higher risk factors.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining your overall health and preventing the spread of these diseases. Many STDs have no symptoms or very mild ones that can be easily overlooked. However, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, such as infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications and preventing transmission to others.

Std testing options in El Reno, OK:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day STD testing. Mercy Health- GoHealth Urgent Care in nearby Oklahoma City, for instance, is a highly-rated option with a 4.8 rating based on 2803 reviews. First Med Urgent Care, also in Oklahoma City, has a 4.78 rating with 4900 reviews. Both of these clinics offer easy booking through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also provide STD testing. This can be a good option if you have a long-standing relationship with your provider and feel comfortable discussing your sexual health with them.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or who are concerned about cost, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. It's important to check with each center for their specific policies and availability.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits offer a private and convenient option. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then mailed back to a lab for testing. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in El Reno

The prevalence of STDs in El Reno, OK, is reflective of the broader trends in Oklahoma County and the surrounding counties of Harper, Wilson, Neosho, Greenwood, and Butler. According to the CDC, Oklahoma has seen a steady increase in STD rates in recent years, mirroring national trends. While specific data for El Reno is not readily available, it's reasonable to assume that the city is experiencing similar trends.

Risk factors related to STDs in El Reno

Risk factors for STDs in El Reno are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, drug use, and having a partner who has an STD. Additionally, socioeconomic factors such as lack of access to healthcare, poverty, and stigma can also contribute to higher STD rates. It's important for residents to be aware of these risks and to seek testing and treatment as necessary.
