Everything was good except for one thing... She did the quick results in front of me and I was very surprised and unprepared for one of the results to be a non-negative. It turned out to be because of a prescription that I'm on. It was very unsettling. They should ask about prescriptions and/or provide a list of medications that will affect the results. We have enough anxiety in society already.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

Tualatin Chlamydia Testing

Who should get tested for chlamydia?

Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) that can affect anyone who is sexually active. However, certain groups are at a higher risk and should consider regular testing. These include sexually active women under the age of 25, men who have sex with men, and anyone with multiple sexual partners or a new partner. It's also recommended for anyone who has another STI, or whose partner has an STI, to get tested for chlamydia.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for chlamydia is crucial as it often doesn't show symptoms, leading to it being dubbed the 'silent infection'. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health complications such as infertility and increased risk of contracting other STIs, including HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications and stopping the spread of the infection.

Chlamydia testing options in Tualatin, OR:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are a convenient option for chlamydia testing in Tualatin. These facilities often offer same-day appointments and extended hours. One such location is Dr. Hansel's Urgent Care in nearby Gresham, OR. You can book an appointment through Solv’s website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for chlamydia testing. They can provide ongoing care and follow-up after the test. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one in the Tualatin area.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing and community health centers are available. These centers provide confidential testing and treatment services.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are also available for chlamydia. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for testing. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of chlamydia in Tualatin

While specific data for Tualatin is not readily available, Washington County, where Tualatin is located, has seen a steady increase in chlamydia cases over the past few years, mirroring the national trend. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher due to underreporting and the asymptomatic nature of the infection.

Risk factors related to chlamydia in Tualatin

Risk factors for chlamydia in Tualatin are similar to those nationwide. These include being sexually active and under 25, having multiple sexual partners, and not consistently using condoms during sex. Other risk factors include previous or concurrent STIs and having a partner diagnosed with an STI.

Other STDs in Tualatin

In addition to chlamydia, other common STDs in Tualatin and Washington County include gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV. Like chlamydia, these infections often don't show symptoms in the early stages, making regular testing crucial. Testing for these STDs can often be done at the same time as chlamydia testing.
