If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went in for excruciating ear pain. I've been dealing with a mild ear infection on and off for about a year now, that was manageable with topical ear drops. But since yesterday, although I'm unaware of the trigger, the pain has been absolutely unbearable. It was to the point where I could not function as the pain level was 10/10. As I could not wait until tomorrow to visit an ENT doctor, I came here after seeing generally good reviews. From the moment I walked in, there was a gentleman (patient) waiting at the front desk, with no one assisting him. I could clearly hear staff in the back laughing and socializing. I asked him if they were aware that he was there, and he said they let him know that they'll send someone out. Another 15 minutes had gone by, until the gentleman finally called for attention. The receptionist came out and did not give a single word of apology and very coldly performed his intake. After he was seated, she and the security guard began talking loudly at the front desk while the gentleman and I were seated at the waiting area. I want to mention I arrived here at around 2:50pm, and the aforementioned gentleman was the only patient before me. At approx. 3:55pm, I was called into the back. After taking my vitals, I was brought into a room, where I waited ANOTHER hour. Mind you, I am sitting in this room in excruciating pain, almost sweating at this point. While right outside, there is loud socializing occurring among staff. I found this to be a bit unprofessional and frustrating. Finally, someone came inside at 5:00pm, and her name was Nancy. She was a PA-C. From the moment she walked in, she had a grim facial expression. She immediately asked what brought me in, and upon myself explaining my situation, she rudely instructed me, "Ok stand up," and inspected my ear. Immediately after, she apathetically stated that I have an ear infection- as if this was novel news. I extensively described to her, on the verge of tears, how severe the pain is, and she did NOT, in the slightest, display any empathy. I expressed to her that it feels like a stabbing pain that's now radiating to my head, and she so sternly said, "Yeah, it should feel like a pencil poking at your ear drum." If you as a medical provider are aware of this, could you not show an ounce of concern? She was highly aggressive in her tone and terse in speech, providing no substantial medical insight. I showed her the current ear drops that I had been using for a while now, that I no longer can use due to the severe burning sensation, and she nonchalantly said, "I wonder why, " and let me know later in the conversation that she prefers prescribing an alternative topical medication as the one I showed her is widely known to bring forth a stinging sensation. Alas, she concluded our visit, while walking out, saying, "Just wait 10 days and if it's still bothering you, go see an ENT doctor." In sum, I waited over 2 hours to be seen by, probably the rudest and most unprofessional medical provider, to be told in 5 minutes what I already knew. I left in utter shock, in more distress than initially entering. The only tangible results that came from this visit was a prescription for a different medication. If this was the only solution, I understand; however, I could not fathom HOW unpleasant and distasteful this experience was. Perhaps other medical providers here are more knowledgeable and kind/empathetic to their patients- I could only speak for Nancy, who I would not recommend ANYONE to see for their medical needs.
