Yesterday I injured my knee while shoveling snow. I got a ride to the Stateline urgent care, (where my primary doctor is) we pulled up at 355pm. My daughter ran in ahead of me to get me checked in. The receptionist asked what medical issue I was having and how old I was. Then proceeded to belittle my daughter for not knowing my exact age. She then rudely told my daughter that they were closing early. As I walked up a male nurse came outside and told me that they were closing and we could drive all the way back to the urgent care on the other side of town. He said they were closing due to the weather and safety concerns. What does my age have to do with anything? So if I was older or a child, you would have seen me? That's called discrimination. Your bedside manner was horrible. I didn't want to be seen at the ER because it would cost me $300 vs $60 at urgent care. I understand we've had a lot of snow this winter, but we live on top of a mountain, snow is not a rare occurrence here. Barton took their already crappy service to a whole new level of low.
