What to know before you go

IMPORTANT NOTICE: For patients experiencing respiratory symptoms, such as a cough, fever or shortness of breath, we recommend that you visit a UH Fever Clinic or UH Urgent Care. It is highly recommended that your schedule your appointment online. When you arrive, a health care provider will confirm your medical history, perform a physical exam if needed and obtain samples for lab tests, which may include a nasal swab to test for COVID-19. Please note University Hospitals will not test patients for COVID-19 who are asymptomatic.

FROM THE PRACTICE

Under a new federal law, certain patients have the right to obtain an estimate of the total expected cost of medical services, which is known as a Good Faith Estimate. In the event you do not have health insurance, choose not to use your health insurance, or are receiving care from an out-of-network provider and do not have out of network health insurance benefits, you may seek a Good Faith Estimate if (i) you schedule services at least three business days in advance or (ii) request an estimate before scheduling services.
