Walk-in Clinic FAQs

  • How much does a walk-in clinic cost in Lyman?

There are no real industry standards, so not all walk-in clinics are the same in terms of services or pricing. Even though the clinics will charge different prices, depending on location, the base prices range between $75 and $125. That is for the normal services and not specialized ones. You should expect to incur additional costs if you require a special service or medication such as a lab test, an X-ray, or an immunization shot. These may range between $50 and $150, again depending on location. Of course, these costs apply only when you are paying in cash as opposed to using your insurance policy. If you are walking in with insurance, on the other hand, you can expect to co-pay around $20-$50, depending on location, your plan and whether you are in network with the provider.

  • Is insurance accepted at walk-in clinics in Lyman?

Each insurer determines if their plans cover walk-in clinics or not. Your insurer may not cover that, which is the reason why you should always call ahead and be sure before walking in for treatment with your insurance plan. Most plans cover that though so it is highly likely that your nearest walk-in clinic will say yes when you call to find out if they accept insurance plans.

  • Is a walk-in clinic a substitute for a primary care physician?

While walk-in clinics treat most minor injuries and illnesses, it is generally not a good idea to substitute them for a primary care physician. These facilities exist to supplement, not replace, primary care providers which may be closed in the evenings or on weekends and holidays. Using a walk-in clinic as your primary care provider may limit your access to healthcare due to the lower capacity of these facilities compared to a regular medical facility. Additionally, you may have trouble seeing the same provider visit to visit, so they may have very little awareness of your medical needs on an on-going basis.

  • What’s the difference between an urgent care and walk-in clinic?

Walk-in clinic, urgent care center, convenient care clinic, immediate care clinic, and retail clinic are terms that are (too) often used interchangeably, creating confusion amongst patients. In essence, any healthcare facility that lets patients walk-in to get treatment without an advance appointment could be considered a walk-in clinic.

An urgent care center, on the other hand, is a subtype of the walk-in clinic model that generally provides expanded services and extended hours. Retail clinics, which are another type of walk-in clinic, offer fewer services compared to the former. In addition, they are located inside of retail outlets or pharmacies, typically staffed by a nurse practitioner and generally cheaper than walk-in clinics.

  • What is a walk-in clinic?

Walk-ins is a term used to describe a wide variety of clinics that accept patients without prior appointments. Different types of walk-ins include retail, urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care clinics that offer walk-in hours. Even though it is difficult to calculate the exact number of walk-in clinics that exist in the United States given the variable and vaguely-defined nature of the category, 15,000 facilities are estimated to be around. While the majority of the facilities are government, charity or foundation, offering free services, many are private, providing extremely affordable rates.

  • Where can I find and book a walk in clinic appointment in Lyman?

Solv allows visitors to book walk in clinic visits online with just a few taps. Same-day and next-day visit times are generally available, and you can search for real-time availability clinics.

Recent Walk-in Clinic Reviews (20)

Staff was extremely friendly and professional, despite a very large workload from walk-in patients. Another location may need to be added in Gig Harbor to alleviate the patient load. (Or, this might have just been a post-holiday surge on a Monday morning.). The wait time as a walk-in patient was long (several hours), but I WAS seen the same day.

- Verified patient on 12/28

Wait time ended up being an hour shorter than I was quoted and once checked in I was immediately taken back and my vitals were taken and I was offered water or tea. The provider was in to see me within 5 minutes and was very friendly and to the point. Less than 20 minutes in the building. Will be using this clinic as my regular walk in.

The care was adequate however I was disappointed that ALL three walk ins at 8 am opening were taken before myself with an 8 am appointment and before the lady next to me who had an 8:15 appointment. Why do you bother offering scheduled appointments if you do not honor them?

I was there for an covid test first of all. I arrived at 4 as a waitlist walk in, with was ok. I want on when I saw 4 ppl and one family go ahead of me when they arrived after me. The staff kept pulling names to pull to the back and one of them literally picked up my card, looked at it, put it back in the pile and grab another persons card in front of my face. At this time it has been an HR since I arrived. I asked a staff member how do the figure who comes back first? She said, “well normally we take care of the visions with appointments first then side walk ins between.” So I told her, indigo needs a better system because it was really rude what happened in front of my face and to me. You need to get TWO baskets that are labeled “appointments” “walk-ins”, so the customer doesn’t feel neglected or rejected waiting their turn. If you do that then the client be less stressed. Please get a new system

Walk-in, no appointment. Waited outside the tent a bit for 2 people in a group of 3 ahead of me but it was pretty quick. Staff checked my name spelling several times. Check-in staff asked for reason to visit and asked for ID unlike the staff at my first time tested at this same location whom did not ask for ID or reason other than name and phone number. Swabber told will swab for 10 seconds each nostril unlike the first visit too. Overall it’s an improvement (although no line at all for walk-in during last visits). I’m also working at a COVID testing pop-up tent so I understand the routine and challenges all staff on site may have to perform and face regularly. Just hope to reflect my experience honestly as this testing service is important. Very appreciate all the services and big thanks to all staff on site, in the lab and others behind the scene! :)

I needed a Covid test. Easy, download the app solv, make an appointment, they text you. Every staff member was exceedingly kind. The person at the front desk, Jordan, was remarkable. She handled multiple phone calls, walk-ins, appointments, other staff, all with efficiency and grace. People called and came in that Indigo couldn't help, she referred every person to a facility that could, with address and other info. She is a very rare find. Plus, I was negative! Thank you.

Very professional, kind and considerate. The staff was a great team that worked well to get me in and out safely and expediently. They had my records from a visit to another clinic from 10 years ago, so my check in was quick and easy. It is a very well run, clean and organized clinic, the best walk in urgent care I have ever had.

This is a great place for care and I’m very impressed with the staff, their professionalism, knowledge, and kindness! My only complaint is that I was told that it was by appointment only when in fact they were accepting walk-ins. The wait was very long and I’m wondering if separate lines for appointments and walk-ins would’ve felt more efficient, honoring people who took the time to make an appointment while still accommodating everyone.

- Verified patient on 12/24

I had a little difficulty knowing if I should go to the Walk-in testing area or if I was supposed to go elsewhere since I had an appointment. Including those instructions in the text messages would be helpful. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and I was in and out very quickly.

I had an appt at 9:20 but there was a looong line. So that took 10 min to get processed. Would it be better to have one lane for appt and one for walk-ins? But please take a look at the layout of the results page. This whole story about the quality of the test????? I have to upload a picture of my test results!!! Instead of 1 pic I need 4 pics of Stuff that very few people care about. Put that stuff in a link! How can I put the important stuff on 1 pic to show at the airport in a foreign country? Needs name date tested date results and result and type of test. The test is filling. Please change that lay out

Wait time in the examining room was a little long. It would of been nice to have known approximately how long it was going to be. That way I could of taken care of some business on my phone. I didn't want to turn it on because I thought the doctor could walk in any second. Otherwise, my visit went very well.

As a walk in for a non contagious issue. I received great service by all staff from front counter receptionist, nurse, tests, the Dr. after lab work. I was out the door, with the proper prescription sent to my pharmacy. Just after a day in a half, I’m feeling well. I will though take the full prescription.

Was excellent, minus the long wait - 1 hour. Four people came in after me and got seen before me. I was a walk-in (didn't know you could make an appointment). I'm guessing those four people had appointments? Or maybe their needs were more urgent? Would be nice if the Liberty Lake office had a bigger, more obvious sign saying it's (temporarily?) closed. I got my mask on, walked to the door and saw the tiny sign saying it was closed.

Walk in appointment: sprained my ankle this morning and was referred to this Urgent Care by Concentra( went there first not knowing it was occupational injuries only). No wait time, was seen within 10 minutes after MA checked me in. Was taken back for xrays as soon as the dr examined my ankle. Results came back within 20 minutes and was updated on status of xray and when the dr would be in. I was highly impressed with my experience here!

Nice well planned event. Help offered every 15 feet up the hill. Staff asked if we had any question or needed paperwork. Once in the building the line spread out into the 20 groups at the sign in tables. I got extra help and signed in as a walk in to speed things up. Thanks again

Wait time went a bit longer then expected because of an emergency walk in. However we were informed every step of the way what was going on and we were treated amazingly the whole time. Everyone was very helpful. The staff was wonderful with my daughter and explained the test they were doing and made her feel as comfortable as possible.

- Verified patient on 9/17

Was told the wait would be up to 45 minutes, ended up being two hours. I'm not mad, but I don't feel that kind of wait is acceptable. "Walk-ins" were given priority over those in their vehicles (you know, in the ~drive-thru~ testing site). Everyone working there did their best and it showed. So thankful for everyone running the site today.

My three kids & I were walk-ins, We were given an expected time frame & the ladies were spot on, on top of the back log they had.. They got us in quickly, we made each other laugh under the circumstances why we were there & did everything they needed to do to be professional & to care for our needs. Very appreciative of tonight’s staff..

I loved the fact that as a walk in, I could go home and be altered when it was time to come in. All the staff were wonderful from the front desk, to our intake to our visit with the PA. Everything was explained well and any questions we had were answered throughly. Would definitely recommend this clinic.

Walk-in Clinics in Lyman

Nowadays, convenience reigns supreme. In a world when "next day shipping" is being surpassed by "same day shipping," who wants to wait weeks for an appointment with their primary care physician? There are several types of walk-in clinics, including urgent care, pediatric urgent care, retail clinics, and others. These convenient care sites offer qualified providers who can diagnose and treat a variety of minor injuries and illnesses on the same day. If you've ever wondered, "Where can I find a walk-in clinic in Lyman?" you've come to the right place.

When you need medical help right away, the last thing you want to do is travel to a neighboring clinic just to find out it is closed. It was such a waste of time. Instead, look for a walk-in clinic that is currently accepting patients. It's sometimes more important that the location is "open now" than how close it is or if it has good patient feedback. It's conceivable that all you want is a quick diagnosis and treatment so you can get back to your normal routine. Based on your area, Solv has compiled a list of walk-in clinics that are now operating. The most relevant, closest, and highest rated results are automatically shown first for your convenience.

Walk-in Clinic Guide

In a recent survey conducted with the Urgent Care Association, Solv found that patients were waiting an average of 24 days for appointments with their primary care provider. In a world of instant gratification, consumers demand more. They demand now. If you want to watch a movie, you download it in minutes or stream it instantly. If you need groceries, you can pick up your phone and have them delivered to you within the hour. If you need restaurant reservations, you find one with availability, book online, walk in minutes later and sit right down. Healthcare shouldn’t be any different.

That’s why walk-in clinics have been growing at a faster pace than any other healthcare service in the United States. And it is why healthcare consumers search for “urgent care” more than 5x more than “primary care” or “family doctor,” combined. These consumers are highly actionable, searching with high intent terms like “walk-in clinic near me.” They want same day access to quality healthcare providers when they are sick or injured - after hours, one weekends and on holidays - without the cost and inconvenience of the emergency room.

Walk-in clinics typically treat minor illnesses like the flu, sinus infections and strep throat, as well as minor injuries like cuts, scrapes and burns, making these clinics ideal for diagnosing and treating non-emergent healthcare needs. Urgent care centers, which are one type of walk-in clinic that usually have medical doctors and x-ray equipment on-site, expand even further on these services. And at a growing rate walk-in clinics are offering preventative care services including annual physicals and well visits, flu shots and other immunizations and vaccines, taking on the role of primary care provider for the tens of millions of consumers that don’t have one.

Walk-in Clinic Services & Pricing

Walk-in clinics, which include urgent care, retail clinics and others, are a convenient resource for consumers needing treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Services that you would normally receive at your primary care office are usually available at a walk-in clinic including annual and school physicals, flu shots and immunizations, treatment for illnesses including colds, flu stomach pains, sinus and ear infections and more. Depending on the type of clinic you visit, you could also be seen for injuries such as burns, bites, sprains and breaks. As for cost, without insurance, you should expect between $75-140 for your visit, plus the cost of any labs, tests or images.

Insurance & Payments

Nearly all walk-in clinics take commercial insurance and many (if not most) will take medicare. As such if you have insurance coverage, you can expect the financial experience to be similar to visiting a specialist where you have a co-pay, usually $25-50, due at the time of the visit. Any additional lab work, x-rays or other tests performed will be billed against your insurance first and any supplemental balance due will be invoiced to you after the fact. Without insurance, you’ll pay a visit fee between $75-140 at the time of your visit. This is typically 25-50% more than your primary care provider, but usually the convenience is well worth the additional cost. If you are interested in a telehealth or video visit, your cost could be as much as 50% less than an urgent care, you could be diagnosed and prescribed medication and you’ll never have to leave your home.

Walk-in Clinic Hours & Wait Times

Every walk-in clinic - even those part of the same group or brand - may have different hours. While they are meant to be conveniently accessible during times when your primary care provider is not, that’s subjective and highly variable. A traditional formula, however, is that most walk-in clinics are open 6 to 7 days a week usually between the hours of 8 am to 8 pm. That could shift to nearly any 8-12 hour period between 7 am and 10 pm. You’ll even find some clinics open 24 hours a day, similar to an emergency room. As for wait time, most patients report waiting between 15-45 minutes on average, but that can certainly vary, as well. It’s usually best to find a walk-in clinic near you to either confirm the hours online, or call the clinic directly to verify. Or, you can book a same day doctor appointment online with Solv.
