On 6/18/20 I went to Urgent Care in Abingdon. From the point of check in through treatment and xrays it was the most efficient and smooth flow of teamwork I've ever experienced in a medical setting. The entire process was completed in approx ten minutes. The check in, vitals, exam and treatment was done with the utmost professionalism. Many thanks and kudos to NP Joyce and her team for their exemplary performance and demeanor.

The receptionists are VERY rude at this facility. I am amazed they still have their jobs. They acted incredibly inconvenienced by having to DO THEIR JOB. I’m very saddened to see a Ballad Health facility with those two ladies giving the first impression. The blonde was beyond mean to all patients while I was in the building. I never post reviews but this was unacceptable. Care is fine. They have both NP and Doctors serving patients. In and out quickly, if you come early enough. They only give flu masks to those with symptoms. Many people asked for masks and receptionists would only give masks to those with symptoms, not their caregivers. Bring your own to be protected.

The NP Mary McClain was very professional & helped me once I got to her for help but the staff was awful. The nurse who took me back was so unprofessional & rushed through the questions like she was running for nascar. I could hardly understand her. So uncaring. The lady up front when I was trying to ask her if I needed to check out when I was leaving actually rolled her eyes at me! I left! I will drive the extra miles to Marion to avoid this Urgent Care. I had a very bad UTI & was trying to avoid being admitted to the hospital.

The nurse practitioner Carol King needs to work on her professionalism and bed side manner, stating that pharmacist aren’t Doctors even though they know medicine more than she would. Being a jerk to a patient who obviously comes there because their sick doesn’t want to deal with a medical provider who is “condescending” towards a patient.

This entire facility instead of actually trying to diagnose your issue, they send you directly to the ER every time. I went in with chest congestion, a common cold with a bit of an infection, nope told me to go to the ER and pay about 10x as much. It's a joke, I wish they had closed this one and not the other one.
