AFC Urgent Care, Southpoint Virtual Visit is a virtual health clinic based in Durham offering telehealth, or video visits, to patients in the State of North-carolina. They are open 7 days a week, including today from 8:00AM to 5:00PM seeing patients with non-emergent healthcare conditions where an in-person visit may not be necessary for accurate diagnosis. To make things even easier, AFC Urgent Care, Southpoint Virtual Visit offers you the ability to book online in advance through Solv so you can plan exactly when your virtual visit will take place.

We made an appointment and upon arrival were told the provider would be virtual but they could still examine and prescribe medications if needed. We waited over an hour past our scheduled appointment with no one else waiting. We were finally brought back to a room where someone-maybe a nurse? I don’t know-shoved a thermometer under my daughters tongue as I tried to tell her she’s used to an ear thermometer. She didn’t tell her anything she was doing or introduce herself. Then when she used the blood pressure cuff my daughter was screaming in pain and she was scolded to keep still or else it would “keep squeezing her arm.” She left the room and told us we’d get called through the app. I don’t even know how much longer we waited to be seen virtually but there was NO exam of my child. I just described her symptoms and since this was not her first ear infection we were able to make a likely diagnosis. The provider on the call was very kind but this was not the care we were promised. I will not return or recommend. Be up front with patients about what virtual care can do and what the actual wait time is. My child was screaming in pain and had to wait for an unknown amount of time.

It was 45 min wait for a virtual appointment that they said had to be done onsite even though it was virtual. Uploading information is very difficult and the office staff was not helpful.
