I was taking care of my husband by myself immediately after he had triple bypass open heart surgery in Oct, 2020. After a few days at home I started developing Covid symptoms-classic 102-3 temp, could not smell or taste, hacking cough, sore throat, etc. my husband had a post op in Ada and I asked if they could do a Covid test to protect him in case I was positive. I used a mask and every precaution to keep my husband safe. They did the Covid test and proceeded to tell me it would take up to 5 days for results. I told them this was an emergency and could they please fast track the results because if I did have Covid I would get help taking care of my husband from our County nurse and home health, and I could isolate myself far from my husband with no chance of him getting it. I was told no, it was not an emergency so I vigilantly and safely cared for my husband the 7 days it took to get the result!! Now we must also do a Covid test for him before we will get any help. Essentia sends their Covid tests to the Mayo!! They could have been done so much quicker anywhere else. The time I had to wait, getting sicker and sicker, could have killed me (and my husband)
