KidMed, Mechanicsville

Everything was great overall. But the lady at the front desk on the right was very rude when I was just wanting information on how to check in and again when I left she would not even look at me when I asked if they needed anything else from me, so I just left. I had never been to a kidmed before since I am from Puerto Rico so I don't know if my accent or how I was dressed influenced her choice on how to treat me.

wOKE UP WITH EXCESSIVE COUGHING SO WE GOT UP AND OUT THE DOOR GOT THERE CHECKED IN AND WAS SEEN WITHIN 5 MINUTES

It’s honestly a hit or miss sometimes, depending on which provider you see. The front desk staff is always very pleasant, and the facility is clean and neat. However, I was very unhappy with my most recent visit. My child was diagnosed with an ear infection, which didn’t sit right with me because my daughter never complained of any ear pain. Her only symptoms were a headache and stomach pain. I decided to follow up with her primary care doctor, and I was informed that her ears were fine and that she actually had a viral infection. This experience has definitely made me second-guess some of my previous visits and diagnoses. As a parent, it’s important for me to feel confident that my child is being properly evaluated and that her symptoms are being taken seriously.

I was worried I would have a long wait because I was unable to make an online appointment, but, as walk-ins, we were in and out in about 40 minutes.  The provider and nurses that helped my son were so professional and kind. So thankful for their care today!

Front desk staff is a little rude. Otherwise it was good.

Brought my 3 year old son here as a walk in because he was having some difficulty breathing and his at home nebulizer treatment didn’t seem to be helping. We were brought back to triage and then put in a room within minutes. We weren’t left sitting in the room alone for extended periods of time. Everyone was incredibly attentive and kept us informed of all of the treatments my son was getting and why. When we left, we felt like we had a good understanding of how to continue my son’s care at home. The receptionist, the doctor, the nurses, and the techs were all incredibly kind, knowledgeable, caring, and helpful.

My son was running a fever last night! I couldn't wait til morning came to take him to kid med. Yes, he was a walk- in but as soon as I completed the required paperwork, he was checked in in no time!!! Less than 5 mins he was called to the back and was ready to be seen. I have no complaints whatsoever..... Everyone was super friendly, professional, and educated. Thanks KID MED!! Yes, I recommend this provider

The check in process could be better, having to scan a code and wait, if cell service isn’t great this is an issue.  This location specifically is the only KidMed I continue to frequent. I’ve been to the two other Richmond VA locations and had horrible experiences. I’d rather go to patient first or the ER than visit the other offices. Mechanicsville location is the best, so I was happy to find it, upon need last minute pediatric medical care when out pediatricians office was closed. The week day hours could also be better. 1pm open time is t ideal!

We were from out of town and are so thankful for the staff seeing us promptly. They eased all concerns and made our child feel comfortable with the care the provided.

Provider was excellent and had a great bedside manner. Thorough and efficient.
