My wife is sick, and we went to this urgent care, Convenient Urgent Care in Lapeer. What a mistake! We got there a little past 10:00 AM, we were number 5 in waiting, didn't get into a room till noon, finally was done by 1:00 PM. My wife had the prescription sent to Walmart, 10 minutes away, maybe 15 if there is a lot of traffic. We made it to the Pharmacy before it closed for lunch 1:30 to 2:00 and at 1:20 the prescription was not forwarded yet at that time. No problems, we would wait till after 2:00 to get our prescription for my wife. 2:00 to 2:20 the prescription was still not forwarded. So, we went back to Convenient Urgent Care in Lapeer to talk to the front desk clerk. At 2:30 he blamed Walmart and said that the prescription sometimes takes an hour to receive. His math is off, 1:00 to 2:30 is an hour and a half. That's more than an hour, but that was the best he could answer at that time. Because we have children, we had to be home by 3:00 so off to home we went, 25 minutes away. I called Walmart at 3:30 and there is still no prescription for my wife. Not happy at this point of all this, seeing my wife sick, I called at 3:36 and left a message with my phone number as they did not pick up the phone. No accountability so far on their part. It is now 4:50 and there has been no call back and I probably won't get one. So disappointing when someone is sick, and they can't get a prescription nor answers. Our family will not be going back to this urgent care. On a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 being the best... you can guess it's not above a 2. I called again, they did not. Finally, at 4:55 I got through to someone at Convenient Urgent Care in Lapeer, she' was apologetic and said she will do the prescription ASAP, whatever that means... Time will tell... along with their action or no action. Tired and a lot of waisted time for something that should've taken less than 3 hours... Not 6.5+ hours.

They have a specific room for people with Covid and people who have symptoms that are in the list of potential Covid symptoms. So...if you have a history of asthma and allergies and you isolate? Tough luck. You're going to be put in the Covid room and potentially put yourself at a HIGHER risk of getting Covid. Let's use science to burst their bubble about the whole 'back room' idea. Just because they have a separate room specified for potential and confirmed Covid cases, that doesn't make you any safer. No room there is safe from Covid. Period. You have people who are asymptomatic who don't show signs/symptoms of Covid. Per the CDC, a person with Covid is infectious 1-2 days before presenting symptoms. People can have no symptoms, test negative, and STILL be positive. Given the incidence of Covid in Lapeer County, they are already seeing Covid positive patients in the rooms that are designated as 'safe rooms'. A study in The Lancet demonstrated aerosols could leak out from guest rooms and into corridors (mechanism of transmission), that guests in neighboring rooms 'may inhale the aerosols when doors were opened'. Unless they've got air purifiers in the rooms, hallway, have made upgrades to the ventilation system, or the 'Covid room' is a negative pressure room (unlikely), it is impossible to mitigate Covid risk and patients in the 'non-Covid' rooms (where patients who are asymptomatic/in the period of time they are infectious but not showing symptoms/positive but testing negative) are being exposed to Covid. Given the rate of Covid in our county, it is a statistical impossibility that exam rooms set aside for supposed non-Covid patients are Covid-free. They are fooling themselves if they think otherwise...and they can't argue otherwise because studies surrounding this clearly state otherwise. Know this: if you tell them you have a runny nose or cough, you WILL be put in the COVID room. You might be like me where you have a lifetime history of allergies and asthma, wear an N-95, haven't been exposed and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you do not have Covid...it will not matter. You will be told that, "We're not saying your lying, but other patients have told us that too." You will be told they are trying to protect their providers by being put in the specific room where they see patients with Covid and those suspected of having Covid. You will be putting yourself/your child at a MUCH higher risk of getting Covid because the 'Covid Room' will most definitely have a higher viral concentration of Delta or Omicron. I know I won't risk being put in that room...so think carefully about how you answer. Finally, it is not abusive when you preface a sentence with, "I'm not directing this at you, but this Covid situation is BS". Use of a swear word is not 'abusive'. How it is used *IS*. Context matters...as does science and facts. When I said I wouldn't risk being put in that room, truth be told I won't go to a medical office where I know more about the indoor transmission of Covid, how to mitigate it (per The Lancet, Swiss Medical Weekly, CDC, etc...) than the actual providers themselves.
