I took my daughter to Mercy Go Health in Bella Vista on a Monday. The Dr. told us it was viral and if it she didn’t get better to come back in 4-5 days. We walked in Saturday morning to have a follow up because she was worse- we weren’t even given an option to wait to see the Doctor who was the same one we saw on Monday. I had no problem waiting, wasn’t upset over waiting, I just needed my daughter to be seen for the follow up. The front desk clerk told me wait and follow up with my PCP the next day and they were not accepting anymore patients the rest of the day… It was only 11:30AM and there weren’t more than 5 people in the waiting room. I politely explained that we had been there on Monday and I came back as instructed and this wasn’t a new visit and she made it seem like I was being unreasonable and told me the patients currently in the waiting room had been there since 10am waiting… no, they would not see her…period. I couldn’t believe it - there was no option, no concern, no empathy- things required to be in this industry at a front desk. Why was I not presented with an option of… it looks like the current walk in waiting time is 2 hours, we can call you if an appointment doesn’t show, etc. It was their facility that had seen my daughter and misdiagnosed her in the first place- I went to another urgent care facility and they explained that I could come back at 1 and they get her in (very kind and communicative) but instead I took her to Washington Regional Urgent care at 1301 Walton and they got her in within 7 minutes, were incredibly kind and helpful, and diagnosed her with strep and gave her antibiotics so she would start feeling better. So not only was my daughter misdiagnosed at Mercy Go Health but there was no available follow up for the misdiagnosis/follow-up so all we did was waste our money on the first visit and’ put my daughters health at risk with a horrible provider and facility. She missed school and was so sick all week and when we went back for the help we should have received, we were told to wait until the next day for help?!? My daughter has STREP and had it for a week already and she wanted me to just wait? At a minimum, the front desk clerk should have reached out to other Go Health facilities to see if she could help us get in… that wasn’t even offered! When I looked online, I could have gotten in at 3 other Mercy facilities with an appointment that day. No, I’m not lazy but when a facility makes an error and someone they have seen needs help for the same issue, they should take an active interest in getting that individual help or at least pointing them in the right direction with other urgent health facilities instead of saying to wait until the next day- she wasn’t a doctor and was giving medical advice by triaging my daughters’ medical issue and telling us it wasn’t urgent!!! Really, really, really unacceptable. It feels like a cattle run at Mercy Go Health and we will never go back there again.
