I scheduled an online visit for my teenage daughter with complete ease. From the moment we walked into the waiting room and then to the treatment room and again at our exit we were greeted by the kindest and professional staff. They were wonderful to us and very concerned about caring for my daughter and getting her what she needed. Our provider was especially kind and in depth with her medical care. Each time a staff member left the treatment room my daughter said, “They are so nice mom.” I was very satisfied with the care and felt great about what the provider diagnosed and recommended for treatment. Also the clinic was super clean! Stacy Dennis

Every person I interacted with was kind, knowledgeable, caring and professional. I would highly recommend this urgent care for a time when you are sick. Mel and Dr. Smith were the absolute best!!

Beware. I should have listened to the reviews. Went here via recommendation of St. Vincent's Care Line. Chose to go here despite the awful reviews on another website because my doc is affiliated with St. Vincent's and my doc was booked up until 2 days out and I was feeling really ill. Was hesitant after reading the terrible reviews on the internet but I needed bloodwork. Was seen by NP Julie Ngoc. She ordered bloodwork. The nurse (Karen) wasn't able to obtain my blood after several attempts, so Julie Ngoc sent me to LabCorp in downtown Birmingham. LabCorp downtown said they didn't know why St. Vincent's Urgent Care kept sending people to them because they do not draw blood there. The downtown LabCorp gave me a map with about 4 other LabCorp lab locations to choose from, so I then drove to the Montclair Road address. The NP Julie Ngoc had told me she'd call in 5 days with my results but didn't. Called the St. Vincent's Urgent care 6 days later for my results. The person on the phone told me it would take 5 business days, not 5 days. 5 days and 5 business days are 2 very different things, and the NP had told me 5 days. Also, my bloodwork was done at LabCorp so that posts in 24 hours or less unless a specialized test. LabCorp is very efficient (I know this as a nurse). It's now more than month later and no one from St. Vincent's Urgent Care has ever called me with my results. Went to UAB Urgent Care downtown a few years back and used their online service as well. UAB Urgent Care is 100 times better. They drew my blood, and I had the results during that same visit. I was correctly diagnosed and treated. When I used their online service, it was fantastic as well. I highly recommend UAB Urgent Care downtown Birmingham or if you have great insurance, go to an ER but don't go to St. Vincent's Urgent Care. You should go anywhere but St. Vincent's Urgent Care. Update - Called St. Vincent's Urgent Care today. The person who answered the phone when I finally was able to get my results at St. Vincent's Urgent care simply said "Yes". I didn't know if I'd called the correct number. Who answers a phone without stating the name of the business especially a hospital or clinic? She said she'd return my call once she pulled up my results and she did. She started to read my results. I asked her if she though my bloodwork from 6 weeks ago was any longer accurate. The person on the phone said she'd look up my result and call me back and indeed she did. I stopped her in the middle of reading my results to me and I asked if she thought bloodwork from 6 weeks ago was valid knowing it wasn't. She states said she was just giving me the results I'd asked for. True enough but to this day, my main questions is "Why in the hell didn't anyone call me weeks before with result and send the results to my doctor as I had asked"? Since they'd never called within a reasonable amount of time, I had my blood drawn elsewhere and was immediately started on medicine for a serious ailment. This place is incompetence at its highest level. If you value your health or the health of someone you care about, go elsewhere. Called hospital administration to report this. It took them a week to return my call though I left a detailed message. They just left a message to call them back. I never called them back. They should have returned the call within 24 hours. St. Vincent's cares about what they can charge your insurance company or charge you and that's it. Incompetence! .

Most of the staff were great as always. But the bedside manner from the dr, pa, np whoever she was was horrible. She did not introduce herself, she did not know who the patient was. All she had to do was look at the computer in the chart. She did not know what test was done on my 5 year old daughter. Didn’t tell me a diagnosis NOTHING. This place has gone downhill and fast. Will not be returning.

I went to the location with a sinus infection. The physician told me she didn’t feel comfortable treating me until I had a COVID test. The results were supposed to be back in 2-3 days. I called on day 3 - no results. I called day 6 and was told if they had the results they would’ve called me. I called again on day 10 and was again told if they had the results they would’ve called me. Upon further questions from me, the receptionist told me they’d already called those who had the results for the day and the lab was backed up, but he couldn’t tell me how far they were backed up. I asked what day the people that received the results today had their tests and he did not know. I then called the St.Vincent’s site where I had to go for the test. They gave me my negative results which had been in for 3 days! This is place is terrible!!!!! I also went to another practitioner the day after I went to this place and was properly treated for the sinus infection I had. This was not only a waste of time and a waste of money but they didn’t treat me and added unneeded stress.

The wait is short and the receptionist and nurses are professional but this clinic is lacking in its primary function. The doctor didn’t introduce herself, didn’t ask me what was going on, dismissed my chief complaint and sent me home with a prescription of over-the-counter throat lozenges. She also used the term ‘crap' to describe what turns out to be a growing abscess on my tonsils. I left without any diagnosis or treatment. I also felt belittled for requesting an additional test, which was denied. I went to another urgent care later on in the day and paid another copay because of how uncomfortable I felt without any diagnosis, based off the my pain and how it was only increasing in intensity. I’m so happy this health care provider was able to immediately diagnose me. She was able to provide me with both quality patient care and treatment, that had I not gotten, would have landed me in the ER.
