AFC Urgent Care, Fairhope

Omg!!! Their fast and efficient as can be depending on the patients.. I went back quickly with severe lower back pain and was treated with a five star treatment even after I arrived home as they called the next morning just checking in on me and how I was. They followed up again several days later. WOW is all I can say. The treatment is way too awesome compared to any Dr Offc I’ve ever been in. Fairhope surg Care is a 5 Star for me!

My wife was scheduled for an MRI on Saturday 12/23/2023 at 12:00 p.m.. She was told to arrive at 11:45 for paperwork etc. We traveled from Gulf Shores and was running slightly late. We arrived at AFC Urgent Care and was approaching the reception desk at 11:55. I informed the receptionist who we were and why we were here. The receptionist then rudely stated that we would have to reschedule due to being late. I checked my watch and explained that it wasn't even noon yet. She rudely replied, "this is our protocol and noon is only a couple of minutes anyway". We will never do business with this organization ever again. AFC Urgent Care has an overall approval rating of 1.8 out of five stars and that is for good reason.

I sent my 3 children to be tested for covid due to my husband and myself being sick. Two of them had symptoms.so we wanted to be sure. They were treated horribly by staff there. Incredibly rude, slamming thermometers and followed around...left the door to the exam room open and proceeded to talk about my kids where they could hear them. Talked about how they didn't need to be there testing etc. Incredibly unprofessional behavior. One of my kids did test positive and is pretty sick so I guess she DID need to be there testing. Someone needs to train staff on compassionate care and professionalism.

DO NOT GO HERE. A PA will see you so they can file your insurance in a way that it is not fully covered. I was in there with the PA (unknowingly) for less than 5 min, and got a few prescriptions for a cold. I got an expensive bill in the mail, called my insurance company and they said because they filed it under the PA instead of the supervising physician, it wouldn’t be fully covered. I called AFC and the man I talked to was rude and also said there was nothing they would do. *If I would have known this, I would have gone somewhere else. This is ridiculous. I have always heard terrible things about AFC in Fairhope and should have listened!

Myself and family have visited this location on several occasions during the weekends and after hours than our regular doctors. This evening, my 5 year old split her earlobe open and it needed to be evaluated ( I don’t want to go to ER due to COVID 19). I contacted the clinic and told them I was on my way. They said they locked the doors at 6:00pm. I asked them could I been seen if I arrived at 5:58 and they repeated that the doors would be locked at 6:00. I verified the time that they used to detonate when they locked the doors, and I rushed over. I arrived at 5:58 and they had locked the doors and turned the voicemail on. I will never return to this establishment....I felt like they knew I was in the way and locked the doors so they wouldn’t have to treat my daughters laceration. Very very disappointing. Previously, I have had more than 16 great experiences there....never again
