I'm still shocked! I went in because of a possible infection on the evening of Jan 5th 2021 to find out my toe was infected from an ingrown toe nail because I can't get an appointment right away at my podiatrist. I asked if a doctor would look at it when I arrived and requested his card. I was told yes. Once inside, a young kid in his early 20's WITH NASTY, LONG, POINTY, and FILTHY nails came to see me.! He tried to reach for my foot and I moved it. He looked at me annoyed and asked why I moved my foot. I told him to put on gloves, and he looked upset. He still didn't use gloves. He said it was not infected, but then offered me a 10 day prescription for antibiotics. I said that I preferred not to take them if not infected, and asked for the doctor. He said that he was only one I would be seeing. (He is a nurse practitioner supposedly) I ended up walking out when he went to write the prescription. Sad that medical care has lowered itself to this. I will wait to see my podiatrist like originally planned, but I still am unsure if the toe can wait.
