I visited AFC urgent care today Acute Bronchitis. I was treated by Dr. John Avinaj. I was seen in a timely manner. The staff was great and patient friendly. BEWARE!!!! We came here when my son was injured. We walked in, gave them our insurance and co pay. When my son was getting initial check in with the nurse the doctor comes over and says he would not be able to help and we needed to go to an ER. He had the front desk reimburse us and we left for the ER. Months later they try sending our insurance a bill. We never even went into see the doctor! We've talked to them on several occasions to remove this bill for nothing. This place is a SCAM. They won't remove the bill and it's now on my credit. Disgusting way to run a business.

2nd time going in and had an appointment. Waited in line for 25 minutes to check in, 2 more infront of me and the patient says I have an appointment. The male receptionist responds we're only taking patients as they come in. Why have appointments if your not going to use the schedule? Well the 3rd time I finally got in. Staff are not very friendly. But the female nurse practitioner was awesome. The place is a dump. Dr. Bruce Irwin should should be ashamed to see what his exam rooms look like. I've worked in the medical field for 27 years. I definitely won't be back or would I recommend this place.

Why would Dr. Michelle Smart tell a patient Masks don’t work and the CDC doesn’t recommend them. I checked the CDC website and they do recommend masks, distancing and washing hands often. I have used AFC for many years and hope I never have that Dr. on my next visit

AFC Urgent Care of Sarasota actually had the audacity to put a 30 dollar charge (must have been something my insurance didn't cover) in a collection account on my credit report smack dab in the middle of the covid 19 pandemic!!! Are you kidding me? This dropped my credit score 100 points!! Your are damaging peoples credit scores over 30 dollars in the middle of Covid??? You do realize many families including mine, are struggling to stay afloat and you damaging peoples credit over 30 dollars during a national pandemic is just wrong. This shows a lack of integrity in the leadership at AFC Urgent Care, as you are only concerned with money. I will never return to AFC Urgnet Care!
