AME Medical Group, Downey Florence Urgent Care

I walked in feeling horrible, and the person sitting at the desk just told me to submit my information on the tablet and then fill out some paperwork, with no empathy toward my well-being. With no one else in the lobby, I still had to wait longer than I expected while the employees just talked about food and snacks; then I saw the doctor, and all he did was prescribe some nausea and dizziness pills. I think homeless people have better furniture on the street then this lobby.

The doctor I saw was great! She listened to what I had to say. She was very knowledgeable and personable. I wish she could be my personal doctor. My only complaint with the urgent care on Florence and Brookshire is that it is not handicap accessible. I get stuck outside in the hot sun yelling for them to open the door for me, and they can’t hear me, I called the calling center, was told they didn’t answer the phone, they try to email them. You would think they would put a hand pushed door opener, or at least a door bell. Especially since the outside door is so far from the office door, and they can’t hear a handicapped person trying to get help.

I scheduled an appointment at 12:30. I received a call to come before 12 or after 2. I arrive after 2, waiting until 3, and then was told the dr went to lunch. I returned at 3:30 for my appointment.  I spoke to the dr about my symptoms - sore throat, cannot swallow, fever, body aches, sore in general area. I mentioned my concerns for hsv and strep throat. My dr asked if I my partner had known symptoms for hsv and I said no. So he scheduled bloodwork and prescribed a zpack and ibuprofen.  My symptoms progressed, my gums were terribly swollen and had to return two days later. Another doctor asked about my symptoms, inspected my sores as there was more than one at this point, and provided me antiviral medication.  I lost 8lbs, couldn’t swallow for days, had a fever for days, and have inaccurate test results showing a false negative for hsv because I should have been swabbed rather than doing blood work. This has been an extremely frustrating experience that lasted longer than needed had the first doctor take the time to look at my sore before giving medication that didn’t help.

Reception and clinical staff is really nice and helpful but the office is really run down you can tell it's an old office and it needs new equipment. It smells clean but the building itself looks I can't means maintenance, example waiting room floor looks stained and ceiling has watermarks doors look dirty Etc The employees are crammed in a small space and the doctor went to lunch while I waited in the room. I waited 30 minutes for him to come in

I didn’t like the doctor, he really didn’t help at all. Told me that he didn’t see anything wrong for most but that it looked viral. Proceeded to “prescribe” me over the counter allergy meds. I even told him my mucus had blood spotting yellow. Ive gotten worse the last couple days I should’ve saved 2 hours of waiting wasn’t worth it.

New stuff are friendly but others no even has any gesture for patients  Clean rooms nice areas or waiting room  Except restroom smell bad  But is clean nothing bad just the smell  But everything is good time and manners  But doctor K she’s adorable very flexible to speak with her and she ask and listen perfectly i love this doctor is kind of the doctors we need it  I recommend this place even stuff are kind of no courtesy or friendly they do their job  Before i forget they need new materials like blood pleasure need to remplace it was rip and looks old  Thank you for asking a d i appreciate it doctor and stuff

We met with Dr. Craig Bailey and he is the most thorough, compassionate, helpful, and detailed doctor. We are grateful for him for his services and being very patient and spending time explaining things to us. I brought my mom in for her care and she felt heard and understood. I will be switching my primary care to Dr. Craig Bailey moving forward.

Had a concern of a red left leg rash, thinking it was shingles. Doctor was very attentive and explained what it was and what to do to treat the itching. Doctor explained other alternatives.

The doctor was excellent, listened to the patient and good care.
