American Family Care, Danbury West

This was a follow up visit. Once again I was very pleased with my entire visit. My Doctor was awesome! He spent a long time with me, listened to me, answered all my questions, made me feel at ease, and confident that things would get better.  The front desk clerk and nurse practitioner were excellent as well.

The doctor or PA that saw us was so unfriendly, he was rude and helpful

I’ve never had that experience coming to this urgent care. The staff is always very pleasant. The doctors are always friendly and personal and pleasure to be with.

There was one scheduled appointment before me and one walk in and still I waited 45 minutes to enter the exam room. Then I waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come in. He looked in my throat and ears. Never look in my nose or felt my throat or sinuses. I told him I had constant ringing in my ears and a headache that won’t go away. He just told me it was viral and take plenty of fluids. I had to ask if mucinex was ok to take.

I was concerned about this place when I called them yesterday to reschedule the girl on phone sounded so incompetent. Now today I saw it in person. The phlebotomist could not find my vein and stuck me three times and asked why didn't they send me to Quest? I said good question.    I've never seen this before and I would never come to this place for care. I said if you can't find in arm you can use my hand for veins and she said she doesn't do hands. I never heard of that before. She said she can do it l, but she's never done it, and I guess the lady they had yesterday was better than it than her. If I knew that I wouldn't have rescheduled. Then she saw a vein in palm of my hand. I said I never saw anyone draw blood there before. She said it's a big vein and then stuck me and still didn't get anything.  She repacked the box with my blood draw and gave me the instructions to give to another place. I would never use any AFC again. She kept touching everything light the light switch and lamp, and then me with no gloves, and then said the overhead light to see the veins well wasn't working again? I said I don't want to leave with something I didn't come in with. And no one has ever used a surgical pen on me before to find veins? And after all the last of the three pricks that didn't work, she was more concerned about removing the surgical pen marks with alcohol instead of the blood coming out from the prick. I was holding the cotton pad and she's moving it to take off my ink. I said the ink square box she drew on my arm is inconsequential and can you please press down with gauze the blood coming out? Then she stopped and put an bandaid on.  The receptionist also couldn't even scan my id today (and I had to ask them don't you need my id) and kept asking the nurse how to do it.  I've never seen anything like it. And the  she scanned it backwards and called me back to rescan. Total incompetence from front to back of office.

Amazing… Every. Single. Time. Always feel better after leaving.

The doctor was very patient and attentive. She took very good care of me when I was overwhelmed and nervous about a bee sting in my eye!!! Cant thank you enough

The team was very professional - they were  excellent, not to mention the Dr’s thoroughness and patience. I literally have no complaints and would be more than willing to recommend others to your facility.

Came in with symptoms of Lyme disease and asked the doctor to look at a bite on my ankle towards the end of my visit but he refused because “I was already monitoring it”. I knew something more was going on so I went to the ER and got testing done. It was a tick bite that got me sick. The doctor at urgent care told me I had an ear infection then sent me home with nausea meds instead of listening to me. If I had listened to him I could have gotten even worse and potentially have long term health issues. Listening to patients is important even when it’s a young adult, more testing and exams should have been done especially with ticks being a big issue in Connecticut.

I have always had an enjoyable experience when I came to AFC.
