April 6, 2021: I haven't been feeling well since Saturday, started with a headache & congestion, then other symptoms followed. Today I have a 103° temp. sore throat, cough & aching body, so I decided to get a test for COVID-19. The nearest place to get tested is Canyon View Family Medicine in Santaquin, just 1.5 miles from my home. I called at 12:33 pm, updated my insurance & scheduled the appointment for 1:15 pm and was instructed to park in the drive up area, call to let them know I arrived and Mike would come out to test me via nose swab. Upon my arrival I parked in 'curbside #1', called them and was told they couldn't find my appointment for which I had to convince them of, though they acknowledged having my new insurance info. 🤔 During this 13 minute call I was also told they cannot see me until she contacts their billing department to approve it because I owed them money that was filed under a bankruptcy. WTF??? I told her that was 7 years ago and I didn't owe them because it was included in the bankruptcy. She continued to argue that she had to talk with the billing dept. and I would have to continue to wait. I told her my health insurance will pay for the COVID-19 test that I need and informed her of my symptoms & am high risk. I also told her that it sounds like she was denying me medical care. This horrible woman representing Canyon View Family Medicine actually replied, "Well, yes, if you owe us money. Do you want me to call billing or not?" I told her, no, no, no, no, no! I'm not wasting any more time with this place. She said, "Okay, bye then." Wow. This is ILLEGAL, degrading, unfathomable GREED and mistreatment, especially during this pandemic. I only wanted to be tested for COVID-19. Rather than honor the Hippocratic Oath, they blatantly disregard and violate it.
