Today my husband was not allowed into the Beach Care and Urgent Care Facility. He was diagnosed with Strep Throat on Saturday. He felt like he needed to see a physician this morning because his temperature was still high at 101.5 and he was experiencing some vertigo. When we arrived, they denied access and sent us to the emergency room. The doctor in the ER listened to his lungs with a stethoscope and looked at his throat and ears. The ER doctor changed antibiotic, prescribed something for vertigo and gave him the name of an ENT specialist if things did not clear up. I am not sure why the physician at Beach Care would not even examine him - Emergency Rooms are for emergencies and weekends if one should become ill. Health Care is very expensive and the difference between a doctor’s visit and an emergency room visit is significant. Very disappointed in the lack of care.
