My first visit to this facility was last Monday, Feb. 4th. I took my 16-year-old daughter who was running a fever, chills, headaches, cough and cold/flu like symptoms that had onset the previous night. The doctor performed a basic exam, we talked about the flu and colds, and she sent us home with no meds and diagnosed her with a viral infection. My daughters symptoms continued to worsen, her fever ranged from 100 to 103. We went back on Wednesday because her throat was now very sore. I asked the doctor, a different one from our previous visit, to please swab her throat to rule out strep throat. The test was negative and we were sent home with the same diagnosis and no meds. Fever continued and more symptoms piling up. On Friday evening her ears began hurting and her eyes were blood red. We went back to be told she now had an ear infection and conjunctivitis. She, the same doctor as we saw on Wednesday, prescribed antibiotics and eye drops. Saturday morning my daughter woke up needing help out of bed, she had trouble keeping her balance, throwing up and with a temperature of 104. We took her to the ER where they finally ran some tests, gave her nausea meds and well needed hydration. She was diagnosed with type A flu, but were told that it was already too late to treat her for the flu. My husband and I are so upset that our poor daughter had to suffer through this with absolutely no treatment at all. I cannot believe that in the middle of flu season, they didn’t do a simple test to rule it out. All this could have been prevented if these doctors were more competent. We pay very highs premiums to be covered by our to receive mediocre services. I cannot express how awful I feel for my daughter’s nonsensical suffering. For Goodness sake, people die of the flu. I am not the type of parent who leaves anything for later; I always try to prevent or do everything right away, especially when it comes to my child and her health. I will never go back to this facility and I would recommend parents to try to avoid it if at all possible.
