We were advised by our school to use this location for sports physical. For us, it is about a 40 minute drive but from pass places for sports physicals I assumed since the school is telling us to use this location it would be easier and perhaps they were already set up for this particular school. It was easy scheduling an appointment online. It showed available availability for same day in the evening. Upon checking in they originally told us that they don’t do sports physicals for our charter school and only CCSD. However, they were able to change that and begin the sports physical. It is also an ER location which I did not know until showing up. Even with an appointment and even with the sign outside saying that ER wait time is five minutes we were there for nearly 2 hours before seeing a physician. Which makes sense that no one cares about a sports physical on an emergency room so I felt kind of stupid being there. However, they said they did them and got us to sit there and wait to have it completed. However, they wrote on the sports physical. “I am a board certified emergency physician and clearance is typically through pediatrician or family medicine provider Instructor to have further follow with primary care for sport evaluation”  so not only were we charged $50 and told they can do a sports physical but then they proceeded to write on the sports physical to get additional care elsewhere for sports physical evaluation. I really don’t believe that an extension to an emergency room should be offering sports physicals and I know it wasn’t necessarily anybody’s fault and we chose to go there based on the schools recommendation which is not again their fault But it didn’t make a good experience to offer a sports physical that you charge for from a physician that will write down essentially that they didn’t thoroughly do a sports physical and should seek additional medical professional assistance. The board certified emergency physician did not say any words to me as a parent at all, and did not even mention this to me, but did write it down on the paperwork that we need to turn in.
