This is an update to the review of 10/5/2020. The Physician working at this clinic did call my daughter after the clinic had closed for the day. He was very kind, reviewed her symptoms and prescribe her an antibiotic that would treat the Strep throat and the sinus infection that he diagnosed her with. She will be able to pick up the medicine this morning and get it started. I'm thankful for this physician and appreciate his caring enough to call her after hours. Thank you to this physician!

My 18 year old daughter presented to this clinic on a Sunday afternoon with complaints of sorethroat, white patches on her tonsils, low grade temperature, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, chest congestion and general malaise. She was seen by a physician who although was pleasant, didn't check her temperature nor did he do a strep screen. He did a covid test, looked at her throat, remarked it looked like strep and said he would call her in some antibiotics. Unfortunately, he didnt call in the antibiotics on Sunday. On Monday early afternoon, she called the clinic to request that they be called in. She called 2 hours later and they still hadn't been called in. When I called close to an hour before closing, the very nice receptionist apologized explaining the clinic had been very busy and that the doctor who was working wasn't the same doctor she had seen on Sunday. Therefore, he would have to review her chart before he could call the medication in and he hadn't been able to do that. Thus, she will not be able to get her medication until sometime on Tuesday. As a mother and as an RN, this is not acceptable. Strep infections are extremely contagious and although she is following COVID precautions, she obviously contracted strep from someone and could be spreading the infection as well. More importantly to me is the fact, my daughter is I'll and sought medical care apprpriately and two days later will receive treatment for strep infection. Complications of untreated infections include kidney damage, rheumatic fever, specific rash and heart valve damage to name a few. I'm very concerned for her and her health. I hope to find other care providers for her while she's attending the University who practice the Standards of Care with the health and well-being of the patient first and foremost in their mind.
