Immediate Care Medical Center, Chico Covid Testing

Made a “reservation” for a COVID test for 10. I checked in at 9:58 and your app said there were 0 people ahead of me. I finally got into a room nearly an hour later only after I asked the receptionist to help. I am a professor of health services administration and public health and my area of expertise is healthcare quality. Your processes are horrible. I interact with the healthcare system frequently and immediate care was uniquely bad.

I spent 2-3 hours setting up this simple Covid test. Phone calls, delays, filling out IC and Solv website forms. Paid online in advance. 9am appointment, got there at 8:45, 2 phone calls to announce my presence. Walked in to check, sent back to the parking lot. Finally got called in at 9:55. YOUR web said there was NO ONE ahead of me from 9:04 on. Finally got done at 10:10am. I missed a another doctor appointment because of this. Very poor performance, lots of apologies, pretty hollow. I told the reception lady and the practitioner that I will not return to IC unless I’m bleeding and have no other place to go (which I do). Meanwhile, you sent me 8 texts over an afternoon and following morning, mostly to confirm and make sure I would show up and be on time, TO MEET YOUR NEEDS, I believe. You didn’t meet mine.

Horrible, broken, mismanaged health care experience. I was completely blown away by how unprofessional, inefficient and complicated this entire process and system is to simply get a Covid test this far into it. From the registration process for a simple Covid test to the lack of organization and efficiency of all staff on site including the physician or whatever his title is. I waited for two hours just to get tested and get my results for an appointment I had made online. Not feeling well, I would have expected just a little bit of priority or purpose in someone, anyone as healthcare professionals. The registration process was way too clunky and a waste of time just to be asked the same questions when I arrived at the facility. Completely redundant waste of time for all especially patients who just want to get a very simple test. Prior to arriving at my appointment I received probably 4 or 5 text messages all from different phone numbers needing additional information after I received my original appointment confirmation number? I have a lot of respect and sympathy for health care workers going through all they have in the past couple years. I strongly believe their continuing work and service could be so much more professional than what I experienced on every level. Your patients deserve a lot better than what I saw. This entire process and system could be so much easier and efficient to get people tested and on their way in a quarter of the time (I could show you how)!! Who ever is managing this do better!!!

I felt compelled to lie about my transgender status on my Solv questionnaire because there were only a "gender" and a "sex" option. I would have felt comfortable disclosing my transgender status if the options were instead something like "sex at birth" and "current gender" instead.

Had an appointment. Waited a hour before I was called in. Booked by UCSF

The wait was over 30 past appointment time. The results are to be emailed or texted to me and have not!! The Covid test was required for surgery on Monday at UCSF and I’ve yet to get the results as of Sunday. Not happy!
