I arrived shortly after 8 AM and waited approximately an hour to go into the physicians waiting room. After that I was met immediately with a nurse who conducted a strep test. We waited for the results of a strep test for another hour before we were able to see the position. Each time I ask for a status update I was told that they were prioritizing the care of their regularly scheduled patients. This is fine and I’m glad that those folks are taken care of but I do not think it is reasonable for patients, particularly small children, to wait two hours. If urgent care is going to be allowed during regular business hours then time should be allowed to see those patients. I believe this is particularly unreasonable when the patient is there for a minor illness such as ear infection that, in our case, required less than 5 minutes total face time with the nurse and physician combined. My clients would not tolerate this type of treatment and I wouldn’t expect anything different. The nurses and physician were friendly and competent, notwithstanding that, the excessive wait time is a dealbreaker and I will not be returning.
