With two young kids that always get sick. The friendliness and warmth from the whole staff is always amazing. I can finally let down my guard and relax, because I know the staff has everything under control.

Great place for urgent care. Staff is very friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. They even offered us some snacks and drinks. They have Xray on site and whenever my kids have had any kind of non-threatening sports injuries it is very convenient to go there instead of an emergency room.

I walked in and the receptionist was on her personal cell phone, so I had to stand there and wait for her to finish before I could even check in. The nurse who took us back was extremely unfriendly and showed very little compassion. I explained that my son has ASD and is nonverbal, and she did not acknowledge it at all. I also noticed the office had visual communication boards available, yet despite being told he was autistic and nonverbal, no one offered to use them or made any effort to accommodate his communication needs. While we were walking to X-ray, several staff members were gathered around watching videos and talking about some video that had apparently been released that day. It came across as very unprofessional, especially in a pediatric medical setting. The most concerning part of the visit was the medical care itself. The NP told me that she and a coworker had looked at my son’s X-ray and determined that it looked clear, that everything looked good, and that he did not have pneumonia. She said the radiologist had not officially read it yet, but if they found anything different, she would call me. Sure enough, she called while I was driving home and told me that the radiologist had diagnosed pneumonia. Despite that, I was told the care plan would remain the same with no medication or other treatment because his vitals were “good.” I specifically asked what his oxygen saturation was and was told the nurse had documented 98%. However, I personally watched the monitor while it was being taken, and it was reading 95–96%. We normally go to the Mechanicsville KidMed and have always had a completely different experience there. It is cleaner, the staff are welcoming and compassionate, and everyone has always treated my children with care. Unfortunately, this location was the complete opposite. I will not return, and I would not recommend it. I am writing this while my son is in his crib coughing severely, and I am praying we do not end up needing to take him to St. Mary’s Hospital tonight. This entire experience left me feeling dismissed, concerned, and extremely disappointed in the level of care my child received.

Most staff members were wonderful with my child. I’ll say the doc was absolutely amazing and listened to all the symptoms and was quick to think of possibilities then ran multiple tests and put in X-ray request.

I booked an appointment ahead of time but had to wait about an hour and fifteen minutes to be seen by the doctor. However, everything and everybody were excellent. Would recommend. I have been here many times and never had to wait that long.
