If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Memorial Heights Emergency Center is an emergency room, commonly called an E.R., providing critical and life saving healthcare services to patients throughout theHouston area through their location at4000 Washington Ave, Suite 100. They are required by law to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on national holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
While their availability can be enticing, you should really only visit an E.R. if you absolutely have to as they can be quite expensive and have much longer wait times than an walk-in urgent care center. In fact, some insurance carriers have begun to refuse paying for emergency room visits that were in fact non-emergent. An interesting fact that about 50% of emergency room diagnosis could be addressed at a quicker, less expensive urgent care center.

First off this place is amazing and the service they are providing exceeds any standards you have. Jacob at the front desk was so respectful. My nurse Bill took care great care of me as well as the Doctor. Once again I couldn't be more happy with my care at this ER. thank you all.

I have never been to a doctors office or an ER with worse hospitality and professionalism than this place! I went in after stepping on a rusty nail and having it stuck in my foot. The lady at the front desk was awful and unhelpful. She had me fill out the little piece of paper with my name & number and I sat there and waited for about 20 minutes waiting for her to get me the actual paperwork to fill out with 0 acknowledgement from her. Little did I know she wanted me to wobble on over with a nail sticking out of the bottom of my foot to get the paperwork. When it was time to FINALLY go back she just told me to come back and watched me struggle to walk and then asked me if I wanted a wheel chair WHEN I WAS ALREADY THERE. Lil late for you to try to be somewhat useful. I got put in a room and nothing that was going on was explained to me. I think the only thing explained to me was there was a remote if I wanted to watch TV. They were fairly quick with injecting excruciating lidocaine into the bottom of my foot & removing the nail but then they just pretty much left after that. I was asked if I had recently gotten a tetanus shot and I couldn't even think of the last time I got one so they just shrugged it off as id be fine. No big deal just let a patient take that risk after having a rusty nail lodged inside her foot. It was never offered as an option to even get a tetanus shot. I was offered absolutely no after care instructions to make sure this doesn't get infected. I ended up calling my childhood doctor and finding out it had been 10 yrs since my last tetanus shot so I marched (maybe wobbled) in there and demanded one!! The lady who gave me the shot couldn't have been any sweeter but the overall service and care provided was awful. Next time I'll leave the nail in my foot
