NextCare Urgent Care, Fredericksburg (Plank Rd)

I was a tad frustrated with the repetitive nature of the electronic "check-in process", but that was made more accommodating by the front desk staff. My overall experience with all of the staff was wonderful. I felt my career was provided with the upmost respect, genuine care and expertise. Thank you for making an unfortunate injury easier to manage.

My appointment was scheduled at a certain time and i arrived and I had to wait and other people arrived and got seen before me.  My paperwork wasn’t completed and I had to wait an extra hour and 30 mins.  Thats was not fair and unprofessional.

Front staff was great. Your tech smelled like cigarettes and when went to swab my throat he swab swabbed my tongue not my throat so I knew it was going to come back negative. When your doctor came into room and told me that my strep came back negative. I looked at her and I said well I feeling it was and explain to her why I said that. When she looked inside my throat she had no light nothing and said yup I don’t see anything I again said really because I have white patches on the roof of my mouth and when I brush there I making myself bleed. She looked again and was like oh ummm yes you do and I see the patchs. So she would Have send me on my way telling nothing was wrong with me when I knew there was. Like that is horrible

Had my daughter in for a sports physical. Literally the day before tryouts. Scheduling was so easy, filling out the paperwork ahead of time was very easy, and when I forgot the physical forms, they had them there for me. The nurse practitioner was great and really connected with my daughter. We will definitely be continuing to do our sports physicals there moving forward!

Came in seeking for care and the MA who assisted with my blood drawn was rude and unprofessional. Her tone was unpleasant. She kept making negative comments about my kids and nasty faces. The provider who assisted did not care either.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. I had a great experience.

I scheduled an appointment however I had to wait over an hour and a half for my schedule appointment time to be seen. The provider was wonderful though, and it really wasn’t her fault however, I wish they wouldn’t allow the walk-ins to be seen. When is scheduled appointment was made by someone else.

My son had a bad fall that knocked the wind out of him and left a big scrape on his back. He was very sore so we took him to nextcare to get an X-ray. The nurse practitioner was very nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name to give her credit and recommend her to family and friends.

Came in for ear pain that started the day prior but got progressively worse over night and my ear was swollen shut when I went in. I was trying to explain that when I went in for my appointment but the provider was in the room for a minutes max, looked in both ears and said “swimmers ear I’m gonna prescribe drops” and that was it she did not ask if I had any questions or anything along those lines. I grabbed the drops on my lunch break and tried to put them in but they would not go into my ear  so I called the office to ask the recommendation and they prescribed and oral medication. I failed the get the drops to sink into my ear again that night so I went back on the next morning asking if someone could help me get them in. The nurse that pulled me to the back just told me I need to take the oral medication and keep doing the drops because they’ll help the swelling. My problem was not the care plan they put me on it was the lack of bedside manner from the nurse that brought me back during the original visit barely looking my way while speaking to me and the provider who didn’t take the time to ask about my questions or concerns or really spend much time in the room at all. Additionally when I went back all I asked was for someone to help me get the drops in my ear. I understand healthcare providers can be overworked especially when in an urgent care environment but if I am going to the doctors because I’m an extreme pain, it’s super frustrating to feel like I’m not being heard and like everyone in the office is being dismissive. I ended up making an appointment at a walk-in clinic elsewhere and explained to the doctor that I was having trouble getting the eardrops in and felt like my pain was getting worse, and they took the time to help me get the eardrops down into my swollen ear and also checked the other ear, cleaned out an earwax impaction and ended up, prescribing me more drops because I had to start of an infection in the other ear. Had I not gone somewhere else and been given actual attention for my appointment my other ear, most likely would have gotten to the state that my infected ear is in currently.
