Northwell Health- GoHealth Urgent Care, Bay Shore

I am absolutely disgusted by this facility. I had a virtual visit a few days prior and was scheduled for a Covid antibody test. When I arrived I was notified to wait in the parking lot so I waited for 20 minutes then received a text to come inside. Once I got in the room, I waited an additional 15 minutes until someone came in the room and asked me “Why are you getting in antibody test?” I explained that I work in a hospital and have been around multiple Covid positive person‘s and to my knowledge I have never had Covid however I wanted to be tested for the antibodies in case I was asymptomatic at some point. I was then told “it does not matter if you have the antibodies or not because it doesn’t really mean anything.” This sort of response is an insult to my intelligence as a healthcare professional and frankly a lie. Then, he went on to say many insurances don’t cover the antibody test and suggested I call my insurance to find out if they covered it to which I inquired why this sort of assessment was not considered during my virtual visit. It seemed highly inappropriate for me to have to call my insurance while in the room as opposed to beforehand. He did not have a response as to why I was not informed during the virtual visit about the possibility of my insurance not covering an antibody test. I called my insurance company and since it was after hours no one responded or answered as they were closed. After this, I informed the person who first asked why I was getting the test that the insurance was closed for the night so a man who appeared to be a NP proceeded to ask me the same question the first guy asked “why are you getting the antibody test?” At this point I was completely over it as it is none of their business why I’m getting the antibody test not to mention I had already explained it to the first person who asked me who was standing right next to him. This was a complete waste of my evening after working an eight hour shift in a trauma hospital the last thing I wanted to do was waste my evening at an urgent care facility with staff who continuously questioned why I wanted to get a test, offered uneducated remarks and seemingly were looking for any excuse NOT to simply do their job!
