I arrived with the following complaints. My eye was red and crusty. Most likely conjunctivitis which was confirmed. A prescription was sent to my pharmacy only it was not a prescription medicine. It was OTC for allergies. Needless to say, there was no improvement. My son gave me medicine he was prescribed for conjunctivitis and that seems to be working. I am also congested with a sore throat and cough. I was prescribed a nose spray for the congestion. The pharmacy did not have the medicine prescribed. Two days later they are still trying to contact the prescribing physician for a substitute medication. I was given a COVID test which proved negative. Then, I was given another one to confirm. The second one caused my nose to bleed and I am still removing dried blood.

When you are used to NYU Langone, this facility is awful. Why ask patients, who are going there because they don't feel well, to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before an appointment if you are not going to open your doors 10 to 15 minutes before your first appointment of the day? Make your first appointment 15 minutes after your scheduled opening. Mentioned this to the receptionist who was flippant and ambivalent about my concern and became argumentative. And, while she was completing my sign in she addressed another visitor in an extremely friendly manner and directed him to his location. That was rude. The person who took my vitals was nice, but also clueless about my concern. When I told him it was uncomfortable to wait outside in the hot sun, he said "I thought it was rather nice." Uh? It is not about YOU! The nurse practitioner, who arrived to the office three minutes before it opened, was arrogant. He had no bedside manner. I believe he did not approve of my exchange with the receptionist and remained aloof. He sat a distance from me. His body language made me feel like I had cooties. He brought up information from MyChart I was unaware of. I have been busy caring for elderly parents the past two years. I don't have time for me. Yet, he said I missed an appointment on 6/13/23 somewhere I know for sure I never had. He mentioned recommendations for care from 2017. My care protocols have changed significantly since 2017. He definitely did not make me feel confident in this visit. And, he made me regret not making an appointment with my primary care physician. Overall, the individuals who represent this place are arrogant, unfriendly and incapable of setting aside their personal feelings in a professional environment. I am actively looking for an NYU Langone urgent care for my future medical needs.
