Absolutely horrible. These people could care less about determining what is wrong with a patient. They just want to put a bandage on, prescribe pain meds, or tell you to see a specialist who told you to go to urgent care in the first place. Dr Shapiro is verbally abusive. He does not listen. He won’t answer questions. He doesn’t even bother with a physical exam to determine the location of the pain. Three minutes after a 4 hour wait is all I had. And was then told there was nothing needed to help determine what is wrong with my daily headache since June. First trip was to Scripps Memorial ER in June. They say go to PCP. He orders Brain MRI which took until Aug 20 to get done. He then refers to a neurologist when brain MRI indicates frontotemporal Dementia for a 55 year old, but not urgent and the first available neurologist appointment is in February. So, when researching what could cause both the headaches and brain degeneration, I find that a CSF leak could do this. Coincidentally, I had an epidural injection right before the chronic headaches started. This can cause CSF leak. But, if you try to tell a doctor you know what is wrong with you, they immediately take offense because they are smarter than us (my PhD is joint chemical engineering and rehabilitation medicine). Trust me when I say that only the stupid doctors end up in urgent care. Only the worst behaved. Because they can’t maintain a practice for themselves. Skip the wait. Go to ER if emergency, or wait for your PCP otherwise as these people are a useless waste of your time.
