Urgent Care For Children, Hoover

My daughter developed a fever overnight and we were able to schedule an appointment the next morning for not only her, but my son as well. There was really no wait time and all of the staff were incredibly nice and understanding.

From the start of entering front desk was not friendly, she did not speak I had to speak to her. She was obviously working on something else but not once said give me one second. Been here several times , never been greeted this way. And the medical assistant seem to be upset about having to work, maybe woke up on the wrong side. Seems to me she was not gentle , and a little blah. Just some things I have never experienced here , everyone here is always so nice but today was different!

My 4 yo daughter woke up on a Saturday morning with a fever and severe ear pain, crying out every time she moved. My immediate thought was ear infection so we brought her to urgent care for children. We were told by a Dr here that she just had some fluid build up and that’s what was causing pressure but no ear infection. We went home and the ear pain and high fevers 102-103 continued to the point of not sleeping for 2 days. We brought her back Monday because it was a holiday and our pediatrician was not open, only for the same Dr to look in her ears, say it was probably swimmers ear and to try not to give Tylenol or ibuprofen because her body needed a chance to fight the infection. (That apparently she didn’t have?) on Tuesday nothing had changed so we went to her pediatrician that finally diagnosed her with a severe ear infection in seconds. The ear infection was so bad at this point that the oral antibiotics were having a hard time catching up and not relieving the fever so we had to take her back to the pediatrician Thursday for a rocephin shot. That still was taking a long time to work so we got new oral antibiotics Friday and she finally broke her fever that Saturday (8 days from the first day we took her to this urgent care!) to say I am dissatisfied and upset is an understatement. The dr did not listen to me when I told him something was wrong and he told me there was nothing to do except ear drops for “swimmers ear.” I would not ever recommend this place to anyone. My daughter suffered an entire week longer than she should have for a simple ear infection that became insufferable and this care is completely unacceptable.

My daughter was seen quickly and I felt our concerns were heard. The practitioner did not call in the antibiotic they prescribed so we’ve dealt with some symptoms longer than needed. Fortunately, nothing too serious. If needed, we will definitely use this urgent care for kids again.

After being turned away from a different location, I decided to go ahead to the Hoover location. I checked in online and we were seen right away. The entire staff was wonderful with my son and helped him not be afraid of the x-ray! On our way out the doctor took him to see his own x-ray and explained all the parts to him! The best experience we’ve had at a doctor’s office! 10/10 ⭐️

I love the friendly staff, the service is great, and my baby girl is feeling better.

The experience there was awful. The nurse practitioner was very unconcerned. She said that we will see the doctor and we did . So with that being said, I will never bring my grandson back to that spot again thank you.

Grandson woke up with sore throat and fever.  Went online and made an appointment very easily. When a few minutes early of appointment, they got us right in saw a doctor almost immediately. Diagnosed quickly with strep given antibiotic prescription.  In and out very quickly..  doctor was very thorough and sweet to my grandson.   Great experience.!  Thank you!
